Biodome

4777 avenue Pierre-de-Coubertin, Montreal, QC, H1V1B3

Rated this place:

fun for the fam: A great place for kids, the Montreal Biodome offers four different simulated ecosystems (tropical forest, Laurentian forest, St. Lawrence marine ecosystem, and Artic/Antartic), complete with puffins, penguins, monkeys, flamingos, piranhas, porcupines, ducks, and seagulls (cover your head!). Featuring a small café and cafeteria, an interactive learning centre, and a gift boutique, the Biodome is a great place for a classroom field trip, or a March Break rainy-day activity.

McCord Museum of Canadian History

690 Sherbrooke Street West, Montreal, QC, H3A 1E9

Rated this place:

Thought-provoking museum exhibit - "reveal or conceal": A provocative retrospective of women’s fashion over the past 150 years, it presents the changing notions of eroticism, modesty, and female sexuality, juxtaposing the erotic “hidden plumpness” of hoop crinolines concealed under layers of a 19thC day dress, against an exquisite silk charmeuse and lace drop-waist Chanel gown from the roaring 20's, a vintage 30’s wool-knit (imagine!) Janzen bathing suit, and Madonna’s iconic Jean-Paul Gaultier “cone bra”. Over 200 items - a must see! Until Jan 18/09
