Patisserie De Gascogne

4825 Rue Sherbrooke O, Westmount, QC, H3Z1G6

Rated this place:

for all of your pastry needs: a little pricey, Pâtisserie de Gascogne is a great place to pick up a tea or a cappucino and a croissant, and sit in the window (or, on the small outdoor summer patio) and watch the drama unfold in the middle of Westmount. Quiche is especially yummy, as are the array of chocolates, delicately wrapped for each little holiday throughout the year.

Wawel – Patisserie Polonaise

5499, Sherbrooke West, Montreal, Quebec, H4A1W1

Rated this place:

Ponki Paradise: If the smell of the ponki’s (aka Paczki) doesn’t draw you in, Wawel’s impressive assortment of cakes, pastries, fresh bread and Polish baba’s, teas, coffees, spreads and a small selection of quality meats and cheese behind the deli counter is sure to keep you loyal. With seven locations in Montreal, Patisserie Wawel is a boulangerie, café and épicerie. Ponki’s (sometimes called Berliners) are Poland’s answer to the donut, only better. Since 1984, owner Peter Sowa has been supplying is plum, apricot, and cream-filled creations to countless cafés across town. In addition Wawel offers succulent strudels, brioche, and Polish delicacies like piaskowa and favorki, assorted breads, and homemade pierogi varieties. Oh, and if you ever run out of herring, Wawel has your back.
