Art Gallery of Ontario

317 Dundas St W, Toronto, ON, M5T1G4

Rated this place:

Art and Inspiration: The newly renovated AGO, is a fabulous destination for a date, an afternoon walk, time for thought or a family afternoon. Yes, there are beautiful galleries of old and new art plus quiet space, but also plenty of interactive exhibits, modern works and gorgeous architecture. Both the cafe and Frank restaurant offer fresh, clean, local menus for every palette and the gift shop supports many local artists and is great for browsing!

La Muse Art Studio

Live Drawing drop-in classes: I like to sketch and so when I was determined to attend a drop-in sesh for live drawing somewhere in Toronto, I was really relieved to find La Muse. This seemed like the only place that offered these drop-ins on a Thursday after work (they are open from 7-10pm). When you go, the room is dead silent with concentration, where the only noise you hear is etchings on paper. You can buy chart paper of various thicknesses (I got newsprint) and some conte for less than $5, although they encourage you to bring your own materials. The fee for the session itself is $12, definitely worth a try!
