Trendsetters from Little Italy

Burst Flowers

198 Walnut Avenue, Toronto, ON, M6J2N6

Rated this place:

local jewelry designer: Flowers and jewelry go well together at this little shop just off of Queen Street West. Most of the jewelry is by local designer Dayle Crawford, who's jewelry line Dac & Jac features fine and modern jewelry. He also creates beautiful flower arrangements as you might have guessed. All the jewelry is made of precious metals and stones including sterling silver and Swarovski crystal. The prices aren't that bad either or at least they are affordable. Burst also sells imported jewelry from Italy. It's one of my favourite places to find unique gifts. If you're getting flowers from here for your wedding, you might want to also pick up some earrings for your bridesmaids.

Jackie O

626 College Street, Toronto, ON

Rated this place:

Stylish, Modern, Eco-Friendly: This place has been on my radar since I noticed their potted Christmas plants decorating some of my favorite places on College Street. Their adorable little trees looked like they came right out of a Dr. Seuss book.

Recently, while trying to find a housewarming gift for a friend, I ventured back to Jackie O after the disappointment that was store after store of potted plants and bouquets that looked like they'd been around from the 80's.

You'll find none of that other stuff at Jackie O. And with a name like that, would you expect to? Everything is perfectly simple, eyecatching, and locally-sourced (where possible).

Look for the elegant white storefront in Little Italy if you want to buy me flowers.
