Swim Canada's Longest Laps: An outdoor saltwater pool and Canada's longest -the laps run lengthwise so you can really get a work out! I guess if you really wanted an outdoor swimming challenge you could try to swim to Vancouver Island instead, but I wouldn't recommend it. At least they have life guards here (and no pesky ferries to get in your way).

Outdoor swimming pool: This pool is so amazing - it's huge and it's kind of in the ocean. If you don't like swimming in the actual ocean this is the next best thing. And if you don't like swimming or if a bunch of strangers with bare feet grosses you out, then you can just stand there and watch all of the craziness. Note: Concession nearby with hotdogs and ice cream...
