Phoenix Gymnastics : Phoenix Gymnastics has been offering gymnastics programs in Vancouver for the past 30 years. They have recreational, preschool and competitive gymnastics programs at two locations in Vancouver. Their recreational programs start with kids as young as 6 months of age and run until children are 12. All programs are age-based so that they can focus on specific areas of development, with some programs requiring parent participation. Little ones will enjoy programs like the Wiggles and Giggles, Jumping Jellybeans, Tiny Tumblers, and Leapin’ Lemurs. The programs at Phoenix Gymnastics are all taught by NCCP/PCCP certified gymnastics coaches, who focus on building flexibility, strength and social skills in a fun and low key environment.

Kids In Motion: This program is a great alternative for instilling an active lifestyle and an appreciation for the arts into your child from a very young age. Based in New Westminster, Kids in Motion is a relatively new high energy creative arts studio offering parent participation and kids only programs from babies to 8 year olds. The focus of the program is music, drama and dance taught through both creative and traditional play, allowing the children to learn new skills without realizing it. Natasha Young, the founder of Kids in Motion, has one main goal: to send the children home tired and happy.

Bike Camps for Kids: This is a great local learn-to-bike company for kids. Pedalheads offers eight levels of biking skills and safety instruction to kids aged 3 to 14. Their certified instructors teach beginners and competent riders, and new this year, they have a Trikes ‘N’ Trainers (TNT) program for children aged three years and up. Bring your child’s tricycle, bike with training wheels or even push bike for an hour long, daily program on pedaling, steering, bike safety and most important: stopping and starting! Also new this year, is their Flow Mountain Biking Camps, for children 10 to 15 years of age who are already competent cyclists and looking for a little more challenge. There are locations throughout the Lower Mainland (Point Grey, Douglas Park, North Vancouver, West Vancouver, Richmond, Surrey and Langley) and all camps are one week in duration. They are owned by Atlantis Programs, which offers great swim classes for kids too.
