OurFaves Foodies from The Annex

Created on Mar 13 2009

These are some of my favourite places to shop in the city - from one-of-a-kind designer pieces (thanks, Augustina!) to the fashionably cheap staple items courtesy of Joe Fresh.

Augustina Boutiques Ltd

138 Cumberland St, Toronto, ON, M5R1A6

Clothing boutique: Nestled between upscale stores in a small Yorkville lane, this boutique is the absolute best place to find the trendiest clothes, handbags, clutches, and shoes. It's very difficult to walk away empty handed!

Aritzia

100 City Centre Dr, Mississauga, ON, L5B2C9

Trendy clothing store: Aritzia is your best bet for the hottest trends without the hefty price tags...there's literally something there for all fashion types, from sweats to work clothes. None of the pieces are necessarily 'out there' in terms of originality, but you're going to find some basic good threads.

Urban Outfitters

235 Yonge St., Toronto, ON, M5B1N8

Cute trinkets, Place for shoes: There's always something at urban outfitters for everyone...they have the best little trinkets and books that make great gifts. The home furnishings are a great way to brighten up any place too!

Every season Urban decorates its display table with amazing shoes! Converse, heels, flats, boots, sandals, I could go on....they're unique, relatively inexpensive, and worth the excuse to spend the better half of an hour rumaging through the other stuff in the store!

Lululemon Athletica

734 Queen W, Toronto, ON, M6J1E9

Yoga gear: Lululemon has revolutionized comfortable clothing - whether or not you're into yoga, you definitely should invest in a pair and revel in all its stretchy glory!

Joe Fresh Style

396 St. Clair Avenue West, Toronto, ON, M4P3N3

Cheap clothing store: Joe Fresh clothing is stylish, comfortable, and, above all else, affordable! Find adorable sweaters for less than $30, or scout out the sale items (most less than $15). The best part is that these stores are in conjunction with Loblaws, so you can stock up on everything you need in one outing. Food and cheap/stylish clothes - I couldn't think of a better combo.

Over The Rainbow

101 Yorkville Ave, Toronto, ON, M5R1C1

Designer clothing: The store is small enough to make you feel like you're having an intimate shopping experience but just large enough to hold all the hottest labels. The jewelry at the front is also pretty funky.

Holt Renfrew & Co Ltd

50 Bloor St W #300, Toronto, ON, M4W 1A1

Splurge here: Holt Renfrew is like that girl you know who just has it all - you can't help but love her but are secretly jealous of everything she has at the same time. Holts carries all things beautiful. Pricey, but beautiful. Purses, beauty products, shoes, evening wear, bathing suits, classic menswear, funky everyday clothing by top designers and more are all in one place and are presented in a fashion that evokes high-fasion, even if it's not. I like the location on Bloor Street the best simply because it captures the feel of a classic New York-esque department store (think Bloomingdales).
