Sharyn Scott

Upscale consignment store: Burberry and Chanel and Dior - oh my! What better way to go green than to wear vintage? Reduce, reuse, recycle my friends! Sharyn Scott is a small consignment boutique, offering mens and womens classic gently-used designer pieces. Suits, sweaters, dresses, coats, shoes (Jimmy Choo, Loubouton anyone?), sunglasses, and handbags - Louise Vuitton, Chloe, Theory, Teenflo, Cole Hann, Lacoste - a veritable smorgasbord.

Villages des Valeurs - Jean-Talon

Treasure hunt: A little out of the way if you live downtown, but this location seems to have the BEST swag. On my first visit I found a Yves St. Laurent trench coat for $9.99 - need I say more? Also, I heard rumors there may be an Abe & Mary's outlet coming to this plaza...shhh...stay tuned.

Deja Porte - Ready to Wear Again

344 Ave Victoria, Westmount, H3Z 2M8

Indie vintage shop: As if the clever name weren't enough, this small consignment shop on Victoria, just a block away from the pricey boutiques on Sherbrooke, carries gently used designer duds: shoes, purses, coats, blouses, jeans, skirts and a small selection of eveningwear. On my preliminary scan, I glimpsed a Burberry trench, leather purse by Longchamp, as well as fab finds by Save the Queen, Lacoste, JCrew, BCBG, Prada and Marc by Marc Jacobs - need I say more?

Designer Resale

Designer clothing resale: For over 20 years, London School of Fashion graduate Paula Howe-Harding has been running her tiny "contemporary stylish" consignment shop by word of mouth - only. As you may have guessed, she is very client focused, with several hundred profiles that include name, number, measurement, as well as information about personal style, and what colours suit each respective client. Howe-Harding is brutally honest, and good at what she does - just don't call her clothing "vintage".

Eva B

2013 St Laurent, Montreal, QC, H2X2T3

Vintage Vixen: Eva B is a wonderful resource for anyone looking to find a costume, or just for those with a taste for vintage or one-of-a-kind pieces. Located one block below Sherbrooke, Eva B has a small and inviting storefront which gives way to cavernous store and café. Charming and full of character, Eva B is a great Saturday afternoon adventure where you can rent the perfect costume for that Halloween party, buy the perfect disguise for that masquerade ball, or pick up a pair of vintage boots you never knew you always wanted.

E.R.A. Vintage Wear

Not your grandmother’s closet: The ultimate vintage shop for those that love the thrill of the find, excellent quality, nostalgic and fashionable clothing, but can’t stand hunting through racks of thrift stores. Each piece is painstakingly had picked, dry cleaned, and free of the usual suspects – scents of body odour, cigarette smoke or moth balls. Owner and stylist Elaine Leveille, a former Fashion industry publicist and artist, can help you fulfill all of your vintage fashion dreams. Notre Dame West’s antique alley, which becomes a ghost town in winter, is hoppin’ in spring and summer, and Leveille is the perfect host. She stays true to her mantra, and E.R.A is “all about style, not about brands”, and keeps track of specific details and preferences of her loyal customers and alerts them to new items in their respective sizes and styles. She also has an in-store seamstress, and will tailor items to your exact dimensions, or alter them to update the style, or flatter your individual shape, for a very reasonable price.
