I can never have enough shoes and I'm sure many of you would agree. I hit these shops when I'm looking for the season's best looks.

StyleSense

1 Bass Pro Mills Dr., Vaughan, ON, L4K 5N4

shoe heaven: Located inside Vaughan Mills Shopping Centre, StyleSense is a massive 15,000 square-foot store that sells designer and brand name shoes and accessories. Brands include Marc Jacobs, Burberry, Christian Lacroix, Kate Spade, Michael Kors, BCBG and more....and the selection of merchandise and brands is constantly changing (like Winners). It's easy for me to lose track of time in this store as a shoe lover. From the shoes to the handbags to the hundreds of sunglasses, there's such a huge variety. I recommend this store if you're in search of something particular or if you're just looking to get a great deal on yet another pair of designer shoes.

Heel Boy

682 Queen Street West, Toronto, Ontario, M6J1E5

Shoe store: I have quite the love affair with Heel Boy. I cannot resist walking by this shop without popping in to see what's new in stock. The owners do such a great job at selecting the hottest styles and brands of the season. There's a variety of casual and dressy shoes including sneakers, pumps, wellies, flip flops and sandals. The handbags are also carefully picked to go with the shoes. Brands available at this shop include Rocket Dog, Miss Sixty, Nine West, Kenneth Cole, Fornarina and Hush Puppies, along with trendy lines that you won't find at bigger stores. Prices are not outrageous (between $50 and $400) and Heel Boy has a lot of great promotions and end-of-season sales where I have purchased shoes at 75% off.

Get outside

437 Queen Street West, Toronto, Ontario, M5V2A5

casual and trendy shoes: This shoe store on Queen West is a safe bet if you're looking for the latest in casual footwear. If it's hot, this store will have it, but a lot of people know this so that means if you don't hurry up at the beginning of the season and grab what you're looking for it will likely be sold out (and I speak from experience as this has happened to me twice already at this store). Get Outside offers men's and women's styles, although I have a hard time telling them apart because the men's shoes are just as colourful and trendy. Major brands you'll find at this store include Vans, Converse, Hunter, Havaianas, Puma, Sorel, Rubber Duck, Clarks and Ben Sherman.

Groovy

323 Queen St W, Toronto, ON, M5V2A4

sneakers and athletic shoes: The first thing you see at Groovy is the wall of shoes, from the ceiling to the floor. There's a really good selection of brands and styles for men and women at this Queen West shop. The store's been around for a while and it looks like the owner knows what his or her customers want because this tiny place is always packed. Luckily there's online shopping available now at groovyshoes.ca. I bought a pair of pink Pumas from this store, but they also sell shoes from New Balance, Converse, Rocket Dog, Adidas, Sugar and other popular brands. Groovy also sells clothing, but it's mostly T-shirts and hoodies and I find a lot of what's there to be overpriced and easy to find elsewhere for cheaper.

Specchio Shoes

1240 Bay St, Toronto, ON, M5R2A7

high fashion shoes: Specchio is a great place to find unique, high-fashion European brands like Dries Van Noten and Costume National. The shoe store has been around for years and is known in the city for its excellent selection of fashion-forward designers. I like that this store carries everything from classic stilettos to trendy wedges. Although, I find I come here a lot when I’m looking for a pair of dressier shoes to wear to a party. The sales staff is very helpful and always manages to send me home with a matching handbag. Specchio is a small boutique but it’s worth the trip for the stylish pieces. The shoes and handbags look like art, displayed on the white shelves.

Capezio Shoes

70 Bloor St W, Toronto, ON, M5S 1L9

Rated this place:

latest styles in shoes: The best thing about Capezio is that they always remain a step ahead other shoe stores when it comes to the latest trends in footwear. They also carry many popular brands such as Sam Edelman, Steve Madden, Joe Sanchez, Uggs, Marc Fisher, Michael Kors, Blowfish, Rocket Dog and Puma. The price range is reasonable (compared to Capezio's high-end sister store Davids located next door), and the store specializes in urban and casual styles. If I see a pair of shoes I want in a new issue of Lou Lou magazine, Capezio usually already has them in stock.

Town Shoes

3401 Dufferin Street, Toronto, ON, M6A 3A1

shoe-aholic club: Town Shoes carries popular, moderately priced brands like Jessica Simpson, Nine West and Steve Madden. They also feature footwear and handbags by Canadian designers like David Dixon. There's a lot of choice and many of the latest styles, but it's stuff I can find at other trendy shoe boutiques across the city. What's different and what I like most about Town Shoes is the "shoeaholic club" card that gets stamped every time I make a purchase. After you've bought a few items, you can save $25 on the next one or collect a few more stamps and get a pair of shoes free. If it's your bday you also get rewarded. A nice bonus for the customer and a way for this store to standout in the pack. Town Shoes stores are located at almost every major mall in Toronto. The flagship store is on Bloor Street.
