Catching up with friends should always be done over good food and drink. These are some of the places where my friends and I decide to meet up!

Blowfish Restaurant & Sake Bar

Japanese Fusion: This restaurant is Japanese fusion at its finest. Coverted from an old bank building, it's a great place to meet up with close friends because of its beautiful and intimate atmosphere. From Thursday and over the weekend, a live DJ performs. They have a full selection of sushi, hot and cold plates, and sake brands. Whether you sit at the bar or in the main dining room, choose one of their famous sake brands to enjoy with dinner. To eat, I like the Miso Marinated Black Cod, $20. Also try their selection of sushi for a different take on the standard cuisine! Outdoor patio available during the warmer months!

Il Fornello Restaurant

214 King St W, Toronto, ON, M5H3S6

The perfect "Let's do Lunch" place: Looking for a nice restaurant to "do lunch"? Il Fornello is a great option with their tasty lunch menu. The atmosphere is quiet and calm so you and your friends can catch up without having to yell over the crowd. Service is quick and efficient so you can get it all done within the hour. It's also a good place to host those mini celebrations for office colleagues be it a baby shower, wedding shower, or dare I say, farewell lunch!

Green Papaya

2401 Yonge St, Toronto, ON, M4P3H1

Thai with a twist!: Green Papaya is the place to go when planning to dine with friends. It's central (Yonge & Eglinton), the prices are reasonable for any budget, and the atmosphere is intimate. They serve traditional Thai food with a bit of Viet flavour and if you love noodles, you'll likeit here. Try their Singapore noodle dish. Bonus: they have a patio, perfect for a summer dinner date!

Lobby

I don't mind waiting here ...: This is a nice lobby. A great place to meet friends whether for dinner or drinks before you paint the town. It's small and intimate with a large and welcoming seating area in the front. Reservations are required for dinner given that there aren't many tables to go around. A little bit trendy, it might not be the best choice for those looking to hide ... this is where you go to be seen!

Richtree Market Restaurants

42 Yonge Street, Toronto, ON, M5E1T1

PIck & Choose for Picky Kids: A great place where picky kids can pick and choose. They can have their choice of making their own pizza, putting together their own pasta plate, and of course, developing a fantastic dessert. Since it’s a busy and louder atmosphere, no one will notice when your child refuses to sit still and eat. It's lively and wide open so there's lots of space for you and your kids to maneuver around. Reservations aren't necessary and there is no sitting around and waiting for food. Dessert is always a treat because of the selection. Go for the Belgian Waffles - kids can top it anyway they like!
