Good lodging: Beach Motel is close to downtown and very resonably priced ( they could charge more). Helpfull front desk people, the lake out your back door, bike paths and butterfly park all right there. They lent me a bycicle to take a spin on, told me all about restaurants and happenings, and good shopping in the area. I recommend it to any visitor to Toronto. You can take a streetcar to downtown if you don't want to drive.
