Yellow Griffin Pub

Rated this place:

2202 Bloor St W, Toronto, ON, M6S1N4

Burger: Most of the things I put in my mouth are simply vehicles for cheese--crackers, scrambled eggs, toast, apples. This list, of course, also includes burgers. I never deviate from my usual when we have dinner at the Griff; Cheezy Triple Cheese with a slice of tomato and if I'm feeling sinful: bacon.

Chippy's Fish and Chips

Rated this place:

893 Queen W, Toronto, ON, M6J1G5

French fries: They are crispy and salty and come in a box! I can't wait for spring to come so I can spend a lazy Sunday afternoon at Trinity Bellwood's with a box of fries and a good book.

Little India Restaurant

Rated this place:

255 Queen St W, Toronto, ON, M5V1Z4

Indian food: My boyfriend and I can stuff our faces with the city's best Indian food for $30, total. Buffet has also had rave reviews although I haven't been lucky enough to partake...

The Film Buff

Rated this place:

73 Roncesvalles Avenue, Toronto, ON, M6R 2K6

Ice cream: Gregg's Ice Cream has been the reigning champion for my favorite frozen dairy desert for about 4 years; until now. The Film Buff has slide in to home base to claim the penant. They have coconut ice cream that is twice as good, half the price and within relative walking distance of my place... I'm looking out my fat pants as we speak.

Rated this place:

Organic fair trade chocolate: Everything from their caradmom rosewater chocolates to their ice cream (organic, fair trade and fresh made within 24 hours) is mouth watering. i highly reccomend their dark and white chocolate walnut cookies.

Buddies In Bad Times Theatre

Rated this place:

12 Alexander St, Toronto, ON, M4Y1B4

Theatre: They hosted the most wonderful theatre event I have ever attended: Experiments in Art, Love, Sex and Death. I love this Theatre--they have quality programming and a strong sense of community, and Tullelah's is a great place to grab a drink!

Done Right Inn

Rated this place:

861 Queen Street West, Toronto, ON, M6J1G4

Friday afternoon patio: When it's 20c and brilliantly sunny it's easy to argue that a patio is a patio is a patio. But sometimes when the weather is beautiful and you've had a Friday that feels like a Friday you need that je nais sais quois. At times like this you head to the Done Right. The back patio is almost entirely shaded by a brilliant tree, young vines climb up the wooden fences and the shoddy furniture makes you feel like you're enjoying your tipple in the backyard. Regulars are friendly and welcoming.

Express Pizza

Rated this place:

447 Church Street, Toronto

Pizza: Some people think that pizza is all about the toppings--I think it's 50% toppings, 50% crust. This little dive of a pizza shop, located underneath the Stag Shop at 447 Church, knows how to do crust right. Giant slices are floppy, yet still crispy. A perfect late night snack when you've been cutting up the rug in the village.

PATH Underground

Rated this place:

Between Dundas St (north), Lakeshore Blvd (south), Yonge St. (east) and The Rogers Centre (west), Toronto, ON

Free-dollar date: Challange you and your date to make it from the Eaton Centre to Union Station without getting stuck in Commerce Court. Perfect for when it's unbearably hot or cold, or if percipitation is not in your favour. Time yourself, or add a fun twist by counting the number of International News stands along the way.

Pushpa's Aesthetics

Rated this place:

Place for eyebrow threading: It's beautiful inside, the woman who work there are all fantastic, and it's only $6!

Thai Spring Roll

Pineapple chicken curry: Hot, saucy, so obviously made with love.

Ultra Supper Club

Rated this place:

314 Queen St. W., Toronto, ON, M5V2A2

Snooty bar: Everything here is beautiful. The furniture, the view, the perfect shaken lime margaritas, the bar back. This is the kind of bar where people oft chose to see and be seen, and so the clientele can be a little snooty--but the staff is always friendly. A drink here feels like a drink in an R. Kelly video.

Max's Market

Rated this place:

2299 Bloor St W, Toronto, ON, M6S1P1

Baba ganoush, Ridiculously priced gourmet food shop: It is the most delicious taste sensation I have ever had the pleasure of putting in my mouth. It is terribly expensive, but always worth it.

Every so often I can't help myself from splurging on some really delicious, ridiculously over-priced gourmet foods and I like to do it at Max's Market. I reccomend a nice wedge of Camembert, the chocolate French tart cookies and the cashew-stuffed dates. Also a great selection of salads and prepared foods when you're too lazy to make supper but want to eat something a little more shi-shi than ramen.

Crews Toronto

Rated this place:

508 Church St, Toronto, ON, M4Y2C8

Dance floor

Dance floor: I love to dance on stages in front of large fans to Spice Girls, BSB, Kelly Klarkson, Madonna, Kylie Minogue, N'Sync, JT, Ace of Base and Cyndi Lauper surrounded by really hot gay boys and their hags. A night cutting rug at the Zone in the back of Crews will probably be the best night you have this year.

Vesuvio's Pizzeria & Spaghetti House

Rated this place:

3014 Dundas St W, Toronto, ON, M6P1Z3

Pizza: It's the perfect pie. Saucy, cheesy, crispy--without being excessive in any department. And they use the little tiny pepperonis that always get a little burnt.

Windsor Arms Hotel

Rated this place:

18 St. Thomas St, Toronto, ON, M5S3E7

Stiff drink: The first time I took a sip of the French Martini shaken up by the Windsor Arms Hotel I felt like I had fallen down the rabbit hole. Vanilla vodka, Chambord and pineapple--this little cocktail is sassy and sweet and best enjoyed on the terrace.

Xacutti -- CLOSED

Rated this place:

503 College St, Toronto, ON, M6G1A5

French toast

French toast: Forget everything you thought you knew about French Toast and go to Xacutti for brunch this weekend. While your taste buds will dance at the thought of just about everything on the menu, what you need to eat is the Cheesey French Toast. Thick slices of French Toast layered with crispy bacon and smothered in aged cheddar cheese... be still my heart.

El Convento Club Rico Club

Rated this place:

750 College St, Toronto, ON, M6G1C4

Drag act

Drag act: I love Drag. But more than anything I love really, really good Drag. The shows at Rico go beyond the traditional Cher or Celine routines and bring a flashy Latin show that is entertaining and fun. Not to mention Charo's legs are so incredibly sexy they will make anyone--man or woman--drool in envy.

Cool Hand Of A Girl

Rated this place:

2804 Dundas Street W, Toronto, ON

Organic breakfast

Organic breakfast: It's bright, it's sunny, it's like eating in an old friend's kitchen. The food is delicious, organic and home-made. And some days there is an astrologer on site.

Lucy Nails

Rated this place:

3065 Dundas Street West, Toronto, ON, M6P 1Z5

Manicure/pedicure: I have been reluctant to post a fave about this spot because it's already hard enough to get an appointment as it is... but this is too sweet to pass up. Manicure and a pedicure for $25. You never get in at your appointment time, but who can complain with bargain basement prices like this?

Sutra Lounge

Rated this place:

612 College, Toronto, ON, M6G1B4

Beach: The back patio at Sutra Lounge is covered in sand and it makes you feel like you should be somewhere in the tropics. You'll wait too long to get a drink--but when it comes in a coconut you really can't complain too much.

The Cupcake Shoppe

Rated this place:

Cupcakes: This adorable little bakery has what feels like a billion different cupcake combinations... Chocolate mint ranks high on the list, but nothing beats a vanilla butter cake dipped in caramel.
