Nightlife: It's hip. The menu is awesome. The entertainment rocks. For example: this week they had a Tribute to Patsy Cine with 15 or so different artists offering their renditions of her music. Totally enjoyable!

Food samples, Warehouse shopping: I'm probably not that different than most of you when it comes to sampling. When you walk through Costco they offer you little tastes of products they're trying to promote. Sometimes it's salad but...sometimes it's chocolate! I recommend you visit Costco after you've eaten because a trip through there can spoil your appetite!

If for nothing more than a Sunday outing, I love Costco. Their meat is outstanding and the sample ladies make it fun. I love trying new products. Most of all I love Costco's customer service. If you're not happy with a product...it's a no questions asked situation. They take it back and refund your money. From my experience here in Toronto this is very unlike other Canadian vendors who once they get hold of your cash will do anything not to give it back.

Gefilte fish: I make my own gefilte fish and really nothing can compare to that homemade goodness but United Bakers Dairy comes close. The portion is huge, available sweet or not. If you love gefilte fish you're going to be very pleased.

Indian buffet: The Butter Chicken is almost as good as my own making this one of my local favs. Also the restaurant is within walking distance to where I live and that's a plus for me. I can burn a calorie or two on my way there and again on my way home after I've stuffed myself silly! Love it!

Furniture store: The selection of fine furniture is plentiful. They have some very unusual pieces but I think the best thing about this company is their committment to quality customer service. The stand behind what they sell. They're quick to come out when you have issues and they work with you until you're satisfied.

Fig mustard, Neighborhood restaurant: When you order a sandwich they offer you a trio of mustards... Dijon, Grainy, & Fig. The Fig Mustard is an exceptional flavor and compliments most any sandwich, my fav being the brie and ham. Wow, what a wonderful taste sensation!

Their menu is small but there are specials everyday. This space was redone by one of the designers of Restaurant Makeover and it's clean, classy, and really comfortable. The food is fantastic and the prices very reasonable. They have a special potato au gratin you have to try.

Mall: It's clean and classy. You can shop for everything there including groceries. Have lunch, while you're at it at any of the great little restaurants all clustered on the Loblaw side of the center. They've got everything including interesting gift shops when you don't know what to get the person who has everything. Check it out.

Bread: Their multigrain rye is the best I've ever had. If you go just before closing they sell off the days bread at 1/2 off. AND they punch a frequent buyer card for you so for every 5 loaves you buy you get one free. Can you beat that? Even if you could beat the bargain, you can't beat the great flavor of this hearty bread.

Prime rib beef, Steak: Melt in your mouth delish!

Hands down the best steak I've ever eaten. Did you know 2 people can share a steak, share a salad, share a side, and share a desert. The portions are huge and one meal IS enough for 2. This also makes it much more affordable.

Doctor: Most doctors make you feel like they have one foot out the door. Dr. Shirley Epstein makes you feel like you're her only patient and takes the time to listen to your questions and concerns. She's professional and very thorough. And the follow-up is remarkable. If you don't have a personal physician you might try Epstein or any one of the group at the Uptown Health Center

Outdoor skating rink: I love skating outdoors in the cold. It's such a different experience than an indoor rink. I've done the same in Quebec City. I love it! It's great fun, great exercise, and a wonderful outing. Try it. You'll love it.
