Picnic for the princess obsessed: We have observed that some little girls will insist on developing a keen interest in all things princess. For these little girls, a family picnic with bride watching is just the thing. The gardens on the U. of T campus near Hart House are a beautiful spot and have the added bonus of providing onlookers with a parade of princess brides to admire. HIgh Park and Edwards Gardens will also do the trick.

Faux camping: A parent at a recent Bunch event tells us that on cold or rainy days he likes to take his family for an hour or so of faux camping at MEC. They try out the different tents pitched on the main floor and play on the climbing wall. Free and fun!

Family art class: The AGO offers a weekend class called Side by Side. It's an art class for a kid and parent to take together and an opportunity for grown-ups to get their hands dirty and make stuff. Mediums explored include printmaking, drawing, sculpture and painting.

Wolf howl: So here's how this works. Park staff lead people in cars to an area of the park where wolves have been spotted. People are taught to howl. People howl together. THE WOLVES HOWL BACK! It happens on Thursdays through the month of August.
