Mikasa Japanese Restaurant

Rated this place:

3330 Pharmacy Ave #K, Scarborough, ON, M1W3V8

Udon noodles

Udon noodles: The soup broth was really excellent - I pretty much had plain udon noodles with my meal but the noodles and the broth they were in were likely the best part of the meal. Everything else was pretty decent too (though not standout), and the prices are pretty good.

Thai Princess Restaurant

Rated this place:

387 King St W, Toronto, ON, M5V1K1

Curry phad thai

Curry phad thai: It's one of the only place that offers it and I like phad thai, but not a huge fan of the typical tomato-type sauce that goes with it. Solution: Curry Phad Thai.

Chako Barbeque

Rated this place:

163 York Blvd., Richmond Hill, ON

Korean bbq

Korean bbq: It's not too pricey, has meat that isn't overmarinated and is very well ventilated. (Key for not coming out smelling like what you just ate!)

MOIM Korean Restaurant

Rated this place:

7325 Yonge Street, Markham, ON, L3T 2B2

Dolsot bibimbap, Korean sidedishes

Dolsot bibimbap, Korean sidedishes: It's slightly different from other typical place's Korean Dolsot Bibimbap. They don't use typical white rice, but multigrain rice and overall I thought it was excellent.

They offer a slightly different set of Korean side dishes, presented slightly nicer as well. Still very tasty. :)

Rated this place:

7123 Yonge St, Thornhill, ON, L3T2A8

Burger joints 2008: It's been around forever doing their thing and doing it well. Do yourself a favour if you go and don't get the basic burger - pay a little more for the Banquet or steak on a bun.

Great Cooks on Eight

Rated this place:

401 Bay St., 8th floor, Toronto, ON, M5H2Y4

Burger, Lunch spot

Burger, Lunch spot: The burger was really meaty - in a good way. Great burger flavour while having enough juice and toppings to offset it. Be sure to ask for Mustard and Ketchup - the mustard adds a very nice tang. (Spread it on the bun!)

They have a great view - especially if you get a window seat. Of course they also have good food. Makes for a nice 10-20 dollar lunch spot.

Ten Ren's Tea Time

Rated this place:

454 Dundas W, Toronto, ON, M5T1G9

Tea cafe

Tea cafe: Of the excellent tea and multiple flavours. I really only like the location at Highway 7 and Valleymede because it's a special high end Ten Ren's having far superior tea. It is pricier than the average Ten Ren's however.

Kenzo's Japanese Noodle House

Rated this place:

6180 Yonge St, Toronto, ON, M2M 3X1

Japanese ramen, Tacoyaki

Japanese ramen, Tacoyaki: Their food is prepared in a "just so" manner and all is very tasty. They do what they are good at and don't try to do more.

In my admittedly limited tacoyaki experience, they do a pretty good job preparing this Japanese snack.

Ravi Soup

Rated this place:

322 Adelaide St. W, Toronto, ON, M5V 1R1

Lunch spot, Soup

Lunch spot, Soup: Their soup wrap combo is killer. Both the soup and the wrap are really really good.

It's the best soup I can remember having outside of a pricey sitdown restaurant and might be better than any of those too.
