Chippy's Fish and Chips

Rated this place:

893 Queen W, Toronto, ON, M6J1G5

Fish and chips: I think the taste is from the beer battering, so delicious and light in terms of batter. The chips ain't bad, but I love the extras like mushy peas, homemade coleslaw and aioli. Cute place and cute boxes.

New Generation Sushi

Rated this place:

493 Bloor St W, Toronto, ON, M5S1Y2

Sushi places: The bento box options are HUGE and under $15. You can honestly get 2 meals out of it. We always get free green tea ice cream and the service is super-fast. The place is also open until 3 AM, so good for a late-night fix.

Pearl Harbourfront Restaurant

Rated this place:

207 Queens Quay W, Suite 200, Toronto, ON, M5J1A7

Dim sum restaurants: Love the view of the lake and the chance to explore Harbourfront more after lunch. The best is to go during Labour Day weekend to catch the Air Show during lunch. Cost - a bit more then Chinatown. But worth the premium for the view, clean bathrooms and non-plastic tablecloths.

Stillwater Spa

Rated this place:

4 Avenue Rd, Toronto, ON, M5R2E8

Spa: Hands down - best Spa in the city. Lovely tea room area with a fireplace on one end and aquarium on the other. Loved the complimentary elderflower water in a champagne glass after my massage! Made an afternoon of my massage with the whirlpool, sauna & steam. A pricey treat - around $130/60 min. massage.

Astoria Shish Kebob House

Rated this place:

390 Danforth Av, Toronto, ON, M4K1P3

Greek food: The greek salad is perfectly tossed with the right amount of dressing. The souvlakis are never dry and the taziki is garlicky & delicious! One of the best & most consistent Greek place in the city.

Cora's Breakfast & Lunch

Rated this place:

277 Wellington Street West, Toronto, ON, M5V 3E4

Brunches: Yes, I know it's a chain - so I didn't expect much at first. But this is now one of my favourite brunch places! I love that they bring a little side of fruit with most orders, their selection of eggs benedict (try brie & mushroom) is delicious! Not to mention if you're a big crepe fan...this would be the place to get your fill. The menu is extensive so I find it works well with a big group.
