Restoran Malaysia

Rated this place:

815 Major Mackenzie Dr E #10, Richmond Hill, ON, L4C9X2

Malaysian cuisine: Amazing place to go for Malaysian food. My two girl friends and I went here for one of my friend's birthdays. We ordered the Roti Pisang (which was absolutely amazing and delish), the Platter (which included beef & chicken satay, fish cakes, spring rolls, & shrimp crisp), and the Nasi Lemak Melaka (which was delicious as well).I had the Teh Susu Halia for a drink (milk tea with ginger) - this was okay - something that I'm not really use to.The waiters were really great, and the food was really good. Would definitely go back there again!

Sushi & Bento

Rated this place:

187 Dundas St. W., Toronto, ON, M5G1C7

Sushi: Small little restaurant found near Centre and Dundas. Great place just to have a one-on-one with a friend over lunch and dinner. Had an amazing bento box for dinner (~$20) filled with sushi, sashimi, tempura, miso soup and salad. Was definitely filling, and it was great sushi.

Baton Rouge Restaurant

Rated this place:

216 Yonge St (Eaton Centre), Toronto, ON, M5B1N5

Baton Rouge: We went to the Baton Rouge at the Scarborough Town Centre Location. Seems that everybody loves the ribs here. Apparently the apple cinnamons are to die for as well - however, they didn't have the day that we went. I had the Louisana Chicken Salad - it as quite filling. Service was great.

Bier Markt

Rated this place:

58 The Esplanade, Toronto, ON, M5E 1A6

Beer selection: I went with some of my friends for for a friend's farewell. It actually reminded me of my university's pub (but just a bit bigger and a tad classier). I had a blast that night. I would definitely recommend the Fruli for all girly drinkers everywhere that have avoided beer. The live band that we had that night (Big Catch) was really great too. I would totally come here again if i need a night just to chill, chat with friends, and dance to some great music.

Pogue Mahone's Irish Pub

Rated this place:

777 Bay St., Toronto, ON, M5G 2N8

Appetizers: My co-workers keep winning this Pogue Mahone VIP thing - so we tend to go there for farewell parties. Service is always great. The waitress would always come by with a friendly smile and ready to take our orders. The free appetizers (due to the VIP thing) are great. The sandwiches, pizza and this amazing nacho-dish (minus the nachoes and replace them with baked chips) are amazing!

Sambuca Grill Inc

Rated this place:

21 Baldwin St., Toronto, ON, M5T 1L1

Italian cuisine: I came here last year, but totally forgot how the food was. So I went back last night with a few of my friends to have dinner on the patio. It was great! We had dinner selected from the fine-prix menu (which included, appetizer, entree and dessert) - only for $25! My friends had the T-bone steak which was really large, and I had the seafood linguini, which was superb. The waitress had a friendly smile on their faces as well. Great place, great service, great place to go for a nice, small intimate dinner with a few friends (or for a date) on a great summer night.

7 West Cafe

Rated this place:

7 Charles St W, Toronto, ON, M4Y1R4

Cafe: Great 24/7 hour cafe. Went for dinner. Had the rosie ravioli -- was okay, but not amazing. Ambiance is nice - would be great for dates or late night drinks.

House Of Chan Steak N' Lobster

Rated this place:

876 Eglinton Ave W, Toronto, ON, M6C2B6

Steak: When you first see this place, you sort of question why people love it. Decorated with the cheesy, typical Chinese writing stating "House of Chan" with a red flashing light, you just can't help thinking this place is sketchy. You walk in, waiters are dressed in the typical tie and vest. Place is painted red with a few touches of Asian images and typical bamboo. It's also quite small. However, if you order this steak - you won't be disappointed. I don't eat steak myself, but my friends who are absolute steak-lovers said it was amazing. I ordered the lobster & shrimp dish and thoroughly enjoyed it. Service was impeccable too.

Ben Thanh

Rated this place:

36 Northfield Drive East, Waterloo, ON

Thai/Viet cuisine: I think the vermicelli is really great place. A local spot for all students Waterloo. Fairly cheap prices. However, I would really recommend the deep fried fish fillet with sweet & sour tamarind sauce. I don't really enjoy the pho and pad thai here though. I would definitely recommend Pho Dau Bo for great pho in the KW area.

Ontario Science Centre

Rated this place:

770 Don Mills Rd., Toronto, ON, M3C1T3

Ontario Science Centre: I use to go all the time as a child. Didn't get to revisit this place until 2007 - which didn't seem too thrilling. However, I went again this year with a friend, and had a better appreciation for the exhibitis at the Science Centre. I took my time to read through the experiments and the exhibits and learned quite a lot.It makes learning fun!

Supermarket

Rated this place:

268 Augusta Ave., Toronto, ON, M5T 2L9

Asian fusion food: Went on a Friday night with some co-workers for dinner. Ordered the "thai basil shrimp with chilies & julienned vegetables tossed with a sweet soy sauce." It was okay. It wasn't that amazing. However, many of my co-workers ordered the "grilled Argentinian styled steak with chimichurri dressing and matchstick potatoes on roasted mushroom salad with a balsamic vinaigrette" - consensus was that it was amazing! I tried some too - and really enjoyed it. I would really recommend the "grilled chimichurri calamari with balsamic reduction & olive oil." Great place to have tapas and share a great tasting dinner with friends. Service was great as well.

Kenzo

Rated this place:

138 Dundas St. W., Torontot, ON, M5G 1C3

Japense: Great service. Food selection was very little during lunch time. I had the basic Sho-yu ramen. It wasn't very filing, but it was still quite tasty. Was slightly disappointed, maybe because my friend hyped up the place.Wasn't as good as Ajjisan Ramen, in my opinion.

Fine Asian Bowl

Rated this place:

522 Yonge St, Toronto, ON

Asian cuisine: Located close to Yonge-Dundas Square. Was more of a fancier version of your usual Thai/Viet places. Little bit overpriced for the same food that I know I can get anywhere. Service was great, but it was bizarre how the waiter asked me at the end if we were coming back ever again.

Maison du Japon

Rated this place:

7500 Woodbine Ave., Markham, ON

AYCE sushi: Great service. But this might be because we ordered a bunch of stuff in one go. We rarely had anybody come back to ask us again for more food. However, it was surprisingly on how a good amount of our food actually came to the table. The sushi was fresh as well. May go there again.

Pesto Cafe & Bar

Rated this place:

525 University Ave, Toronto, ON, M5G2L3

Italian fast food cuisine: Many people overlook this place. It's quite a hidden gem. I would consider this place a fast food Italian restaurant. They create the pasta right in front of you - FRESH. Great place to have a quick lunch in the hospital area.

Sage Cafe & Catering

Rated this place:

166 Mccaul St, Toronto, ON, M5T1W4

Healthy food: If you're looking for something other than burgers and hot dogs, this is the greatest thing you'll ever have. A little restaurant found on McCaul and Elm, they serve great and fresh saladas, entrees and wraps. I definitely recommend the wraps (great $7 lunch that's very filling). However, at lunch time, it's quite busy, so make sure you have the patience for the line-up.

Spadina Garden Restaurant

Rated this place:

114 Dundas St W, Toronto, ON, M5G1C3

Chinese cuisine: I forgot how great this restaurant was until we ordered in a few weeks ago. If you crave spicy Chinese food, this is the place to go to. I definitely recommend the Spicy Peanut Chicken, and Crispy Ginger Chicken.

Vagabondo Italian Ristorante + Lounge

Rated this place:

32 Wellington St E, Toronto, ON, M5E1C6

Italian cuisine: Great chic restaurant. Ambiance was exceptional. Service was okay, but the food was pretty good. You can pick between a full dinner or an appetizer dinner size if you're like me and can't eat TOO much pasta. I had the fetuccine al salmone. It was okay, but the stay was nice. My friend had the gnocchi, and I found that to be really good.

Xe Lua Restaurant

Rated this place:

254 Spadina Av, Toronto, ON, M5T2C2

Vietnamese restaurant: Also known as "Choo Choo Train" to my best friend and I (hehe). It's a great place to have cheap pho (about $5). Try the avocado milkshake as well - it's totally worth its money. I found the uptown location in Richmond Hill to be better than the one downtown though.

Indian Flavour

Rated this place:

123 Dundas St. West. 2nd Fl, Toronto, ON, M5G 1C2

Indian food: It was an okay place to eat. Went here for lunch with a few co-workers. Had the buffet. It was filling, but wasn't the best Indian food that I had. It was mediocre. The pakora tasted a litt bit off.

Konnichiwa

Rated this place:

Japanese cuisine: Nice little place, however, HORRIBLE service. Did not enjoy my stay here. Waitresses did not comprehend what we were talking about.

Lotus Tea House

Rated this place:

79 Regina Street North, Waterloo, Ontario, N2J 3A7

Vegetarian food: Placed in a small little house on Regina Streeth North, this little restaurant is in conjunction with a Buddhist temple. The atmosphere is very serene and relaxing. Food is fairly cheap as well for the amount that you get. I would definitely recommend the Fruit Tea. It's to die for!

Hyde Lounge

Rated this place:

420A Wellington Street West, Toronto, ON, M5V 1E3

Nightlife: Hidden in a sketchy little alleyway, Hyde Lounge is a nice lounge that plays Top 40 music on Friday nights. The decor is classy with its red finishing.

Nak Won

Rated this place:

5594 Yonge St., Toronto, ON, M2N 5S4

Korean cuisine: Fast service. Great Korean food. Once you order, appetizers are set on the table (and a great range of them)! In about 5 minutes later, food is already at the table. The dolsot bibimbap is definitely recommended.

Linda Restaurant

Rated this place:

1090 Don Mills Road, North York, ON, M3C 0E7

Thai cuisine: Sister restaurant of Salad King. It's quite pricier than Salad King, but I think you're more so paying for the ambiance than for the food. The food is pretty much the same that they have at Salad King. If you go there though, I would suggest the Thai Islamic Noodles. The dessert was good as well (such as the fried mango).
