Owl of Minerva

Rated this place:

5324 Yonge Street, Toronto, ON, M2N6M2

Korean food: They have real authentic Korean food, and it's REALLY cheap as well. Had the bi bim bap at the First Markham location - really delicious. The kamjatang at the Yonge and Finch location is AMAZING (and it's opened 24 hours too!) People there are amazingly nice as well!

Solferino Cafe -- CLOSED

Rated this place:

38 Wellington Street East, Toronto, ON, M5E1C8

Gelato: Yummy gelato for a good stroll downtown on Front Street. The Ferrero Rocher gelato is quite good. The mango gelato is AMAZING. Tastes exactly like mango in a cup :)

Lin Garden Restaurant

Rated this place:

1806 PHARMACY AVE, SCARBOROUGH, ON, M1T1H6

Hakka food: Lots of food for very little money. If you love spicy food, this is a great place to go to as well. Service is mediocre though. Try the chicken pakora - it's to die for.

Salad King Restaurant

Rated this place:

335 Yonge St, Toronto, ON, M5B1R7

Thai food: Conveniently placed next to Eaton's Centre, Salad King provides great Thai food for an affordable price. The decor inside is quite chic as well. Try the Panang curry or the Thai Islamic Noodles (which are not on the menu - you have to ask for it) - it's absolutely delicious!

Caffe Demetre

Rated this place:

400 Danforth Av, Toronto, ON, M4K1P3

Desserts: With their funky decor, Caffe Demetre offers many scrumptious desserts. Try their crepes or belgian waffles. My favourite's the Forbidden Fruits. Be careful of the "Gorge-Us Sundae." It's deadly.

Night club: 4 floors of tasteful art and current culture. Crazy night of great music and awesome people. The kidrobot room is the most interesting! Great place to go clubbing!

Lotus Pond Vegetarian Restaurant

Rated this place:

3838 Midland Ave #121, Scarborough, ON, M1V5K5

Vegetarian chinese food: Amazing Vegetarian dishes for a cheap price. My mother and I always go there whenever we have time. However, it's quite packed on Buddhist holidays - so remember to make reservations on those days.

Ajisen Ramen

Rated this place:

7010 Warden Ave., Scarborough, ON

Japanese ramen: It's a great place for ramen. There's different types of Japanese ramen that they offer, ranging from the normal "Ajisen Ramen" to spicy Kimchi types. Great place for a cheap eat - about $5-$10 for one bowl.

Alice Fazooli's! Italian Grill

Rated this place:

294 Adelaide St. W., Toronto, ON, M5V1P6

Italian restaurant: Wonderful service! The waiters/waitresses were very friendly. The food came to our table in less than 10 minutes! The food is quite cheap as well. I really recommend the one at Hwy 7 and 404.

Golden Scissors

Rated this place:

2539 Pharmacy Av, Scarborough, ON, M1W2K2

Eyebrow threading: Great place to get your eyebrows done. The people there are very professional and know how to shape your eyebrows well (and won't make them super duper pencil thin). Cheap price - about $7.

Diesel Playhouse

Rated this place:

56 Blue Jays Way, Toronto, ON, M5V 2G3

Evil dead the musical: Dancing? CHECK! Singing? CHECK! BLOOD? CHECK! This musical was absolutely amazing. Great raunchy gore. It was hilarious every single minute. The performance was great, and I definitely recommend it. First two rows will be splattered with blood. :)
