Simon Sushi

Rated this place:

409 Spadina Avenue, Toronto, ON, M5T 2G6

Great!: I love this place. The sushi selection is excellent, the service is fast and friendly and it's super affordable. I'm also convinced that this place has the best miso soup in Toronto, as well as the best spicy roll! It does get a little crowded in there, as the room isn't very big , but somehow they still manage to have super fast service. Kudos to the chef and everyone who works there.

Wrongbar

Rated this place:

Wrongbar: The place is totally in an unexpected part of town. I heard about it form a friend and we went to check it out one night. It's a fun place but it got super busy, which is great for the club, but not so great when you're waiting for the bathroom, which could be bigger to accomate the big club. Other than that the club is nice and big and well maintained. It's got a nice dance floor area with cool lights and good sound. Also there is a good amount of seating space around the room so you can just chill for a bit if you don't feel like dancing the whole night. I'd say the place isn't that wrong at all ;)

Nocturne

Rated this place:

The place looks better empty, no really...: So a friend and I went there one night to check the place out. It was around midnight and the place was empty, we hung around for a while, but I didn't seem to pick up. Since it's close to where I live I thought I'd give this club another shot, make it a sort of Fri night hangout, so I checked them out on facebook. It seems that the management prefers to keep the place empty, as in regards to participating in NXNE they state: "Not going to participate in NXNE this year... Everyone keeps asking why we are not participating as a venue at NXNE this year. Frankly, the thought of having some random band and a roomful of sweaty industrial-goth-rockers just wasn't appealing..." I'm nothing near a punk-industrial-goth chick, or whatever, but NXNE is a great festival that supports a lot of Canadian talent and brings arts and culture to the city. Stating the above is just a big slap in the face to Canadian musicians, artists and everyone involved in NXNE. That's a great attitude to have when your club is in the middle of the most alternative of Toronto's arty districts. Go back to Bay St., Nocturd, Queen St. is for people that still have a soul.
