28-year-old female from Scarborough, Toronto

I like visiting St. Lawrence Market with my bf on weekends, discovering deals, (using RockBand demos to) play the drums, singing karaoke or while driving in the car, overusing parentheses in my sentences, watching comedy flicks and quality tv (it exists), eating, and especially Toronto.

Cheap Canada Day Celebrations

Toronto's city strike closed down many Canada Day festivities tomorrow, but there are still plenty of things to do to celebrate the True North Strong and (especially) Free. Take a look at my top six spots for the best deals and events on our fave statutory holiday...Special note: TTC offers a $9 Day pass for up to six people, as well as discounted admission to TO attractions for Metropass holders.

Dad Destinations

He's fixed your bike and spoiled you with candy when Mom wasn't looking. He even smiled every year you gave him yet another new tie. But whether you're a tiny tyke or all grown up, the best gift you'll ever give at any age is some quality time with Dad. Show him how much he matters 364 other days of the year by frequenting these spots.

Craving for Crepes

Most places tend to offer pastries or ice creams for dessert, so when I discover a standout spot that actually offers crepes, my heart sings a little. Here are a few picks that I've frequented so far that offer a range of crepe creations that can be fit for any meal from dusk to dawn.

Make Your Mother's Day

She gave you life, so a bouquet of flowers just won't cut it. Make the extra effort to spend more quality time with Mom at places that are NOT restaurants.

Mission Impossible: GTA late-night eats

It's Saturday night in Scarborough and it's after 10pm. What is open? Barely anything. Avoid wasting gas driving around from place to place in the GTA and take a look to save some time and money.

Not all sushi joints are made the same -- whether it's a signature dish, outstanding decor, or really good deals, each place offers something distinctive you can't quite find anywhere else.

Dinner dates in Markham/Richmond Hill

When Scarborough just doesn't have what we're looking for, my bf and I like to frequent with our friends. A lot of them we've discovered ourselves, and yes, we like buffets! Note of warning: some of these are more for a casual night out than for romantic dinners.

Scarborough eats

The fact that they're 90% junk food is pure coincidence!

Four Reasons Why Baldwin Rocks

Aside from the fact that this tiny village shares the same name as the always-awesome 30 Rock genius Alec Baldwin, it's my home away from home. If Toronto were an Oreo cookie, Baldwin Village is its irresistible center. It offers a flurry of activity -- from trendy crowds on Queen West to bohemian artists near OCAD and the redesigned AGO.
