Burrito Boyz

Rated this place:

218 Adelaide Street West, Toronto, ON, M5A1M9

Burrito

Burrito: The first time I visited Burrito Boyz I thought it was good; not great. But after having eaten a few more of their burritos, it's confirmed their status as the best ones in town. They pack them in with veggies and sauces (make sure to get an extra squirt of their spicy sauce)and finally pressed with heat that makes them perfect.

Pizzeria Libretto

Rated this place:

221 Ossington Ave., Toronto, ON, M6J 2Z8

Pizza: Fantastic. You can definitely tell the difference between wood fired ovens and regular ovens. I ordered the Quattro Stagione (4 seasons) and each quarter was absolutely delightful. However, I ate a slice of my friend's House-Made Sausage pizza and that definitely took the prize. The meat was rich and demanded the spotlight in an otherwise subtle pizza. It's got a lively atmosphere and the wait staff were polite and prompt. But expect to wait in line as it garners more attention.

Tom's Place

Rated this place:

190 Baldwin St, Toronto, ON, M5T1L8

Suit store: Deciding I needed some suits, I really couldn't find a shop that had quality suits without the hefty price tag. It has an extensive selection and they're all very reasonably priced. Their service is very friendly as you are guided by a personal staff member.

Gilead Cafe

Rated this place:

4 Gilead Place, Toronto, ON, M5A 3C9

Lunch: I've heard and read so many praises for Jamie Kennedy since his stint at the ROM to his adored Wine Bar. However, it's his latest endeavour that I begin my love affair with. The food is rich, complex, and absolutely divine. The fries may be the best I've ever had. They melt in your mouth and the dip has a perfect kick to stir those taste buds. The strawberry soup is deep in colour and equally intense in flavour. To end the meal, a dessert is derserving and I recommend the coconut square.

Miller Tavern

Rated this place:

3885 Yonge St., Toronto, ON, M4N 2P2

Chocolate fondue: Visited this joint for dessert on the advice from a friend, and I wasn't disappointed. I'm not a fan of dessert, especially not chocolate but they were able to capture the richness of chocolate without coming over-the-top in sweetness. There's also an array of fruits and cookies that make this course something to look forward to.

Pangaea

Rated this place:

1221 Bay St, Toronto, ON, M5R3P5

Fish menu: Everytime I visit this restaurant, they have exquisite fish dishes that make me envious of what other people order. I enjoy other meats over fish but I always order fish at Pangea, it's sure to delight your palate.

Old Mill Inn & Spa

Rated this place:

21 Old Mill Dr, Toronto, ON, M8X 1G5

Buffet: For myself, I tend to associated Chinese with buffet which leads to massive overeating and gluttonous acts. Recently, I enjoyed a Sunday dinner at the Old Mill which was a pleasant evening of over-indulgence once again but over steamed lobster instead of chicken balls and and roast beef instead of beef with black bean sauce. The service was prompt and the atmosphere was a casual dinner among families.

Breakfast sandwich

Breakfast sandwich: Sausage and egg McMuffin is the shizzatch. There's nothing that remotely compares.

Young Thailand Restaurant

Rated this place:

111 Gerrard Street, Toronto, ON, M5B1G8

Thai restaurant: As soon as I walked through the doors, I saw a cook peeling garlic on a seat. First thought that entered my head was this place is great; my logic is a restaurant that goes to the care of peeling their own garlic must be great. I was right, their dishes are well-prepared including their sweet shrimps and green curry. Note: they moved locations near the Keele/Dundas intersection on Dundas.

Mengrai Gourmet Thai

Rated this place:

82 Ontario Street, Toronto, ON, M5A 2V3

Thai restaurant: Tucked away from the city noise, the lunch clientele is mainly businessmen enjoying lunch. Chef Sasi scores top marks for the most interesting thai food i've ever had. A must try are her golden pumpkin soup (which contains green curry) which is soothing in the winter and the red curry with lychee (which is an unusual mix but is a killer combo).

Queen Street West

Rated this place:

Queen Street West, Toronto, ON

Streetcar route: You always meet some interesting people on this streetcar, especially at night. I remember a New Years a few years ago where it took us a couple hours to get home. I met a Spanish person who was travelling around North America, New Yorkers heading to an after-party, and tons of locals who were loaded. Just great.

Intimate concert venue

Intimate concert venue: Small venue that has decent acoustics. Good chance of having a great view of the band, but the lineups generally start early.

North 44

Rated this place:

2537 Yonge St, Toronto, ON, M4P2H9

Creme brulee, Restaurant ambience: Absolutely perfect. The best creme brulee I've ever had let alone the best dessert I've ever had. It finishes the meal so nicely.

By far the nicest restaurant that I've eaten at. Mark McEwan is well-known for the interior design in his restaurants and North 44 is a great example of it. You can even see through a glass window into the kitchen. Also, the CREME BRULEE is magnificent.

Rated this place:

Optical store, Optician: This store has a great colllection in wearable glasses for affordable prices. Joe, the optician, is helpful in helping you choose while you spend hours there.

Joe has fabulous taste in glasses that makes shopping less intimidating given the wide variety of selection. He picks a range of glasses that suit you and his friendly nature makes him highly recommended in my opinion.
