Tal Zimerman and Jared Sales from the comedy troupe the Sketchersons put on a great monthly show at the Riv called NSFW. Featuring a well-curated line-up of viral videos, fortified further in the funny department by witty commentary, and sometimes vocal guest panelists, it's worth your sliding-scale contribution. Plus, it's a fresh new take on an old favourite watching said vids with an audience vs watching them from behind your computer screen. Though that is, of course, also very good.

Karaoke night

The host of Kick Ass Karaoke, Carson, Kicks Ass in tight leather pants while drinking gin and singing back up where appropriate. Carson has an ear for music and an ecclectic following of professional and amateur songsters. Famous for his tounge-in-cheek one-liners, his favourite and the true testament of his character? "And don't forget to tip your bartenders!"

Great place to play pool in the city. Funky retro design, a little more upscale, and a great ambiance. I think they re-did it awhile ago and it sure looks nice.
