Back Alley Woodfire BBQ & Grill

Rated this place:

188 Augusta Ave., Toronto, ON, M5T 2L6

Asian fusion restaurant: It features cuisines from all along the Silk Road - so, basically, throughout central Asia, from China to Rome. Definitely a one-of-a-kind place. And it's in Kensington Market, which adds to its appeal.

Udupi Palace

Rated this place:

1460 Gerrard St. E., Toronto, ON, M4L2A3

South indian restaurant: It's very clean and inexpensive, with good-sized portions. The best dosas I've had in a long time were from here.

Greg's Ice Cream

Rated this place:

750 Spadina Ave, Toronto, ON, M5P2X4

Ice cream: There are just no words to describe how amazing their ice creams are, especially when smothered in hot fudge sauce. My two favourite flavours are roasted marshmallow and sweet cream, but really, all of them are good.

Sky Dragon Chinese Cuisine

Rated this place:

280 Spadina Ave #400, Toronto, ON, M5T3A5

Dim sum: It's just where I always go. To be honest, I should probably be a little more adventurous and try out different restaurants. But when it comes to dim sum, I prefer to err on the side of caution.

La Paloma Authentic Gelateria & Cafe

Rated this place:

Gelato: They have every flavour imaginable. It is a bit on the pricey side, so it's good as an occasional treat.

Fressen Restaurant

Rated this place:

478 Queen St W, Toronto, ON, M5V2B2

Sunday brunch: It's really unique, in that it's vegan. I'm not vegan myself, but it's a nice change of pace from time to time. Also, their berry-infused spelt and barley waffles are yummy.

Apache Burgers

Rated this place:

5236 Dundas St W, Etobicoke, ON, M9B1A7

Hamburger: It's an Etobicoke trademark, first of all. I recommend the banquet burger.

Il Fornello

Rated this place:

576 Danforth Av, Toronto, ON, M4K1R1

Pizza: It features two of my favourite things in a pizza; thin crust and not a lot of sauce. My favourite is the one with warm prosciutto, honey figs, mascarpone, shaved grana padano and lemon dressed arugula.
