West indian-style roti: There are a lot of good Roti places... but the combination of rich, savoury and genuine homemade flavour gives Island Foods the nod. And the twins at the Queen & Dufferin location are a hoot! (The trick is to figure out what will make them laugh!)

Used cd store: The business model for The Beat Goes on is simply brilliant. Several stores with their inventory online where you can search, buy, add to a wish list, and get delivered either to your door or to the BGO near you. When you add some seriously knowledgeable people (like manager Laura in the Oakville location) then you've got a great shopping experience.

Sushi places: Superb sushi prepared by 'Jackie' one time apprentice to Sushi Master Aoki Lu (Lily Sushi). Sushi can be pretentious, it can be overpriced, it can be all glitz and no substance... O Sushi is none of those!
