Winterlicious and Summerlicious

Rated this place:

toronto, Ontario

Winterlicious & Summerlicious: I really like to go to dinner for Winterlicious and Summerlicious as it's a great way to try new restaurants or some of Toronto's finest restaurants without having to break the bank. I can get a price fixe 3 course lunch for $15-25 and 3 course dinner for $25-$45 depending on the restaurant. Make sure you book a reservation in advance because they fill up pretty quickly!

Martin Goodman Trail

Martin Goodman Trail: I love running along here during the summer---sun shining on my face, cool breeze coming off the lake, beautiful boats on the water. I love summer! I just love to jog here for the beautiful scenery and I feel very safe—so much better than inhaling toxic car fumes in the city!

High Park Pool

Rated this place:

1873 Bloor St. W., Toronto, Ontario

High Park Pool

High Park Pool: On a sunny day, an outdoor pool is the place to be. And being in High Park is the next best thing. So combine both and the whole family wins. The pool has a walk in beach style entry for the wee ones as well as splash pad with all sorts of things going on. It also has a slide for older ones and lap pool for serious swimmers. A great area to lay on your towel to dry off and big change rooms for the whole family. After a swim, walking through the park makes you feel like you are on holiday and that reality is a bit further away then it really is. Absolutely worth a visit with a great book if you are sans famille, or lots of sunscreen if you are... either way you can hang out there all day!

Joe Fresh

Rated this place:

825 Don Mills Rd (Real Canadian Superstore), Toronto, Ontario, M3C 1V4

Joe Fresh: I love Joe Fresh clothing---it is stylish and so affordable! Check out end of season sales racks for some fantastic deals - you can find clothes ranging in price from $2.99-$8! Also conveniently located in Lowblaws or at their Superstores—you can do your grocery shopping at the same time! Such a great place to buy children’s clothing because it is so affordable and because they grow so fast and it’s hard to keep up with that financially. They also have some pretty neat accessorize.

Lululemon

Rated this place:

342 Queen St. W., Toronto, Ontario, M5V 2A2

Lululemon: Lululemon has become incredibly popular yoga and leisure wear. And now to add to their greatness, they offer at some locations free yoga and pilates classes. Each location offers different classes on different days. Whether you want to show off your latest purchase, or just try it out and learn the ropes before jumping into a new style of excercise, this is great all around. I was intimidated to try it for the first time worrying that not being very bendy would be a real problem. It turned out that it wasn't and I had a great time and will for sure go back for a different or even the same class. And the fact that is free subsidizes my weekly workout routine. Finally something new that doesn’t cost the earth by signing up for a years worth of classes which is what I found at some yoga studios.

Body & Spine Chiropractic Wellness Centre

Rated this place:

358 Danforth Avenue, Toronto, Ontario, M4K1N8

Body & Spine Chiropractic Wellness Centre: There are times when we all need some working on. Sore, tight and aching muscles… you know the feeling. As well as helping to make you feel like you have a new body, massage is amazing for helping to rid your body of toxins (yes we all have a few of those). So rather than thinking it’s a treat, try to go once a month as an extension to all the healthy living that you do. Check out Alfred (RMT) from Body & Spine when you need someone to work some magic in those aching muscles.

415 Horner Ave, Etobicoke, ON, M8W4W3

Front Door Organics

Front Door Organics: Front Door Organics is a food delivery service that brings 100% organic produce to your door. They sell everything from fresh produce to coffee, to clothes to canned and dry goods to personal care items! This is really helps for those times where you do not have time to grocery shop! You can choose a basic box of produce or customize it for whatever your preference-so for my family that means no rutabaga (I just can't get the girls to eat it no matter how hard I try to disguise it!) I also really like how they really try and use as much local organic produce as possible.

Ontario Place

Rated this place:

955 Lake Shore Blvd W, Toronto, ON, M6K3B9

Ontario Place

Ontario Place: A great place to take the whole family on a sunny summer day. There are so many fun activities to do with the kids. They have lot’s of rides for various age groups and make sure you bring your bathing suit for the water park! They have several food kiosks but it can be pricey so bring your own (healthier) picnic. I have never been to see it but friends tell me how much they love the Chinese Lantern Festival. Ontario Place also hosts some really great summer concerts at the Molson Amphitheater which is located in the park.

The Toronto Zoo

The Toronto Zoo: So much fun for the whole family! The Toronto Zoo is huge! In addition to seeing all the different animals that they will never see anywhere else, they also have a fantastic water park for kids—my girls could spend the whole day there! Bring along a picnic and enjoy a relaxing lunch outdoors. There is a lot of walking so if you go with kids make sure you bring a wagon to pull them in. I love watching the giraffes who are so graceful and the orangutans always get my girls laughing with their crazy antics!

Centre Island

Rated this place:

Toronto Islands, Toronto, ON, M5J1A1

Centre Island

Centre Island: I love taking my family to Centre Island! It’s great for a picnic, biking around the island, or going to Centreville Amusement Park—a great fun weekend adventure to do with the family. Another bonus is that my girls find it exciting to take the ferry over to the island. On the island you really feel like you are in another world and so far from the hectic city life. This is also a great place to take out of town guests to show them a different side to Toronto. The view of the Toronto skyline at night is amazing!

766 King St. West, Toronto, ON, M5V1N6

Elixir Organic Spa: Elixir is Toronto’s first organic spa—it is completely synthetic –free!! I first came here when I was given a gift voucher and I absolutely loved it. Mandarin

Rated this place:

1255 The Queensway, Toronto, Ontario, M8Z 1S1

Mandarin: Mandarin is a great buffet restaurant with a good variety of Chinese and American food. It’s a great place to go when you have a large family gathering as you can get as much food as you want and they have something for even the pickiest of eaters. The kids especially like choosing checking out and choosing their own food, and maybe even being adventurous with what you normally wouldn’t get them to eat.

Annex Clinic

Rated this place:

187 Madison Ave, Toronto, ON, M5R2S6

Annex Clinic -Laura Repo-Davis: Laura does theraputic massage for adults but also offers pregnany, labour, post-natal and infant massage. She teaches parents how to massage their babies too! She has a lovely manor about her while working her magic with my stiff and aching muscles. She is strong but gentle when you need it on those tender spots. I have visited Laura while pregnant and after birth with my baby. We all need straightening out or lengthening as I say when I am done... I feel taller! And she is someone who can make that happen.

Rated this place:

St. Lawrence Market

St. Lawrence Market: I love the St. Lawrence market because of the fantastic energy, and the great selection of produce, meat, seafood and cheese. I like how you can talk to the butchers and find out where the meat comes from. Camros Organic Eatery

Rated this place:

25 Hayden Street, Toronto, ON, M4Y 2P2

Camros Organic Eatery

Camros Organic Eatery: This eatery has it all... organic, green, biodegradable packaging, lovely staff and of course amazingly tasty food. I first tasted their Persian cuisine offerings at Dufferin Grove Market years ago. Then they opened their first restaurant a couple of years ago. The food is still as good, if not better and so healthy you will feel like a million dollars after you are finished your meal. Their kale salad is good enough for my kids to eat and the rice balls are always a huge hit too. Superb spices, mixed with yummy vegan organic ingredients will please anyone who walks through their door. They have recently expanded and also have another space with in the Naturopathic College. Now you know it has to be healthy to feed those students!

St. Joseph's Health Centre

Rated this place:

30 The Queensway, Toronto, Ontario, M6R 1B5

St. Joseph's Health Centre: Never a fun place to have to visit, but in an emergency it’s the place to be. Sick Kids is what you might first think of, but a great alternative is St. Joe’s. They have separate kids waiting area with a TV to keep unhurt or sick siblings occupied and toys of course for the long wait ahead. I liked that we didn’t have to sit with all of the other adults waiting for hours, coughing or whatever all over my kids!

360 Health Care

Rated this place:

360 King St East, Toronto, Ontario

360 Health Care- Pascaline Phillips: Everyone should have a naturopathic doctor to seek out alterantive medical advice. Often getting to the bottom of the problem faster than Western Medicine, and in a speedy and natural way. Pascaline is great at what she does and works with homeopathy, herbs, accupuncture to balance whatever you have going on. I have not only sent many clients to her, but have taken my children to see her on many occasions. And having cured a bad case of sinusitis while pregnant, and wanting to stay away from antibiotics, I was on the mend in 24 hours with her help. She is skilled, passionate and knowlegeable at what she does. I have every confidence in her helping you with whatever you need.
