Place for the kids on a rainy day: This place is fantastic, the kids love it, full of painting, playdoh, toys, dress up stuff. There is free Starbucks coffee and cake and pastries provided by them, all provided near a great nursing area too. The staff help out with the kids if you are juggling a couple and you meet lots of other moms there. You even get to sing at the end. Just the thing for the stir crazy rainy days.

Coffee and cake: The coffee is good and the cakes are so delicious. Try the peanut butter, or the toffee cake. The passion fruit tart is fab too. Impressive for dinner parties. Early morning, a lovely weekend treat, is their chocolate croissant. It's a late hotspot too as it stays open until 11 on a Friday, Saturday, it's a great place to call in for that late night treat on your way home. Or just when you neeeeed cake.

Beach: Its quiet as most people drive there, the sand is so soft and it gently shelves into the clear sea, delicious, especially on a hot day.

Go Fish

Fish and chips: This fisherman's shack right by the harbour is from the Bin crowd and the batter is perfect, with thick flaky halibut. The view of the city, bridges and mountains from the patio is perfect, even under those heaters in winter. If you have room try the scallop burger!

Italian ice cream: It's creamy, delicious and authentic. Tonnes of flavours. Strawberry is yum. Great location across from Kits Beach to grab one and resume tanning. Open late too, for those evenings sunset gazing.

Italian weekend brunch spot: They do delicious Mimosas (fresh raspberry juice, grape juice, sparkling wine), truffled poached eggs benedict, frittatas, steak and eggs for really reasonable prices. The food was really yum, dreamt about it all week.

Brunch spot: Their Eggs Benedict, especially with the Peameal Bacon is to die for. Go early to avoid the queues. If you can fit it in, their French Toast is yummy too.
