The Brow House

Rated this place:

1089 Dundas Street East, Toronto, Ontario, M4M1R9

Title: The women here have the best eyebrow shaping skills. When I first went here I was on a "grow-back" program. I spent 1 year growing in my eyebrows that had been too thinned by other people. I am now on a maintenance program with them, and I'm so happy with how nicely my eyebrows frame my face! See Full Post

Covet + Crave

789 King Street West, Toronto, Ontario, M5V1N4

Title: Kim (the owner) has done a fantastic job of stocking premium denim for most body types. She has the denim hanging so it is easy to see, and has just the right amount of merchandise so as not to overwhelm. She is also friendly and honest when she helps you find a pair of jeans. See Full Post

Melmira Bra & Swimsuits

Rated this place:

3319 Yonge St., Toronto, ON, M4N 2L9

Bra fittings, Place to buy a swimsuit: I love this place! I've tried others bra boutiques in the city, and I am always happiest here. They have a lot of selection and have a good range of sizes. The staff is well trained and create a comfortable atmosphere.Melmira does swimsuit fittings as well. They bring you suits that are made for your body shape, and look fantastic! They also have a great range of styles and sizes. Everything together, getting a swimsuit here is fun and takes the hassle out of trying them on by yourself! See Full Post

East End Tea Shop

East End Tea Shop: Jennifer Best is a passionate entrepreneur who opened a great tea shop. My favourite part about her concept is the wall of tea on the east side of her store that has framed pictures of each tea with a short description. There are smelling samples below the description so you can peruse the tea on your own time. It's a fun spot to check out, and enjoy a "refined" beverage! My current flavour of choice - White Chocolate Toffee Rooibos. See Full Post

Lola and Gigi

Rated this place:

92B Carrier Drive, Toronto, ON, M9W 5R1

12+ Heaven

12+ Heaven: Lola and Gigi is a size 12+ heaven! A client of mine recommended I check it out, and I am so grateful she did! In a world where clothing for curvy women is hard to find, and clothing for the size 14 to 16 woman even harder, Lola and Gigi is there to save the day. The boutique owner, Laura, stocks high quality clothing that is up-to-date, looks great on the rack, and even better on the body! See Full Post

Brick Street Bakery

Rated this place:

55 Mill Street, Toronto, ON, M5A 3C4

Breads, Sandwiches, Pastries: I love Brick Street! I have been enjoying their distillery district location for years, and gone to the Leslieville location as well. I love that their fresh bread stays fresh for a couple of days rather than drying out in a couple of days. I was also introduced to Eccles here, which are a delicious pastry with butter, brown sugar, and raisins inside - I figure the raisins make them a healthy treat! ;) I'm getting hungry just thinking about the place!

Clafouti

Rated this place:

915 Queen St. W., Toronto, ON, M4M1J4

Croissant: I have to agree with the first review, Clafouti makes the best croissant outside of Paris. My fave is the cinnamon brown sugar flavour fresh in the morning. It tastes like a cinnamon bun, but even more decadent - delish! See Full Post

Ella's Uncle

Rated this place:

916 Dundas Street West, Toronto, ON, M6J1W1

The Ella: I popped in here on a Sunday to check it out - walking by on the street it looked too cute to pass by! The Ella caught my eye immediately. 2 shots espresso, steamed milk, and maple syrup. Sound divine? It tastes even better!

Barchef

Rated this place:

472 Queen Street West, Toronto, Ontario, M5V2B2

Attention to detail: Barchef has thought of everything! The drinks are delicious, the presentation spectacular, and the environment friendly. Obviously my favourite part was tasting the creative drink concoctions, like a sage and grapefruit vodka martini, but I also loved being reminded of all the ingredients when the drink was delivered. We sat in an area close to the bar, and were highly entertained watching the barchefs do their thing: ice "picked" off a block and put into the drinks; smoking hickory; alcohol on fire... and the list goes on. I love to chat, and I found both the servers and owners eager to share their experiences. Overall an extremely enjoyable experience!P.S. Don't be intimidated by the infamous $45 drink - martinis start at a very affordable $8.00.

Rapido

Rated this place:

1089 Bathurst St, Toronto, ON

Great Sandwiches!: A chef client of mine recommended I try this place, and I figure when a chef tells me to try a restaurant that isn't theirs I'm pretty much guaranteed to be wowed. I was! My sandwich was delicious, the atmosphere inviting, and the people chatty. I loved the exposed brick walls, and the open concept kitchen. I can't wait to go back to try some more delicious treats!

omg Baked Goodness

Rated this place:

1561 Dundas Street West, Toronto, ON

Made with Love

Made with Love: Lesley, the baker and owner of this fantastic treat shop, always says her treats are made with love. Trust me, you can taste it! I had a delicious plum tart that melted in my mouth. This bakery is perfectly named as I kept saying, "Oh My God!" as I ate my treat - it was that good!

The Communal Mule

Rated this place:

984 Dundas Street West

Cafe with Character: The coffee at communal mule is familiar to me – one of my local cafes serves the same 49th parallel beans - so it is the down-to-earth environment that intrigues me most. There is something so personal about the character of a coffee shop. The character of the Communal Mule is comfortable and cozy with due to a room filled natural wood furniture and posters on the wall. I also adore the old silver water pitcher perched on a tree stump so you can easily help yourself to water. This café is filled with character and a fantastic place to grab my Americano misto.

Tealish

Rated this place:

198 Walnut Ave, Toronto, ON, M6J2N6

Tea boutique: Variety and specialization! Everything in this store is related to tea. If you had a different type of tea everytime you went into the store it would take you 6 months to try every kind they have. The people who serve you are so knowlegeable and can recommend a tea that will suit your mood that day.

Hole In The Wall

Rated this place:

2867 Dundas Street West, Toronto, ON

Title: Other than some artistic graffiti, the front entrance to this bar looks the same as it would have 100 years ago. Everything from the metal ceiling, to the tiles, to the glass floor in parts. It is hidden from the street, and an amazing place to see. This entrance gives you a little taste of the past.
