I insist that you make the haul uptown to experience Ajisen. This authentic Japanese noodle soup, which purportedly originated in the 17th century, eats like a choose-your-own-adventure manga rag. With the choice of broth, noodles, ingredients and spice factor at your control, you can fine-tune the bowl of your dreams. Unless, of course, one of the many preconfigured combos hasn’t already got you salivating.Besides the unique cuisine, the décor is a trip unto itself. Check it out and let the wall-size display of noodle bowls, pink bench seats and giant mascot speak for themselves.Lastly, respect the spice! A little goes a long way…

VERY tasty ramen and fantastic value in their prices to boot! I was thoroughly impressed by the speed of service and friendliness of the servers. Ramen bowls start at $5.99 and are a great alternative to Vietnamese Pho noodles.

If you like instant noodles, you have to try this place. The real deal and what you got to eat before Nissin Foods invented the packaged stuff in the 50's (said with all due respect to Momofuku Ando). Huge assortment of noodles and the spicy dishes will take your head off ... and don't forget to ask for extra spicy. I took my (Japanese born) Dad there and when I asked him how it was, he only answered by slurping more noodles.

It's the authentic deal yo. I lived in Japan for 3 years, this place impresses with authenticity and selection. Amazing white broth. And really reasonably priced.
