Indian food

Rated this place:

GREAT food. So fresh, so flavourful. The service was pretty bad for the first 6 months, but they're getting better, and the food makes any bad service worth it, anyway! Try the spinach daal, the butter chicken, the korma... mmmm. It's what we're having for Valentine's day dinner!

The "best butter chicken in the city"...

Rated this place:

...is what it said on the window...and I haven't found better. Liked this place from its Mr. Maharajaa days on Balmuto. Then, after the 'accidental' collapse of the neighbour's building, the first Banjara on Yonge St. with its all-you-can eat lunch buffet kept me coming back. Now, at Christie Pits, transformed from a hamburger-joint, there is no equal in Toronto, in rich, Hindu, flavours.

Banjara is definitley my go-to for Indian food in the west end. I typically order things extra spicy and they are perfect (if you can take heat.) Although the food is amazing, the best part about Banjara is that they deliver.

And they deliver.

Rated this place:

I've eaten at a ton of Indian places in the city, and I have to say that Banjara is in my top 3. Delicious saag paneer, flavourful staples like delicious shrimp vindaloo, and they don't skimp on the heat if you want it. They are also one of the only premium Indian places that deliver. What more could you ask for?

Indian food

Rated this place:

A stop at this place came highly recommended by a friend whose east Indian father is a wonderful chef and bona fide foodie. Vote is in - it's delicious, reasonably priced, and authentic. Creamy lentil bartha and vegetable korma were perfectly flavourful, vegetable biryani and chicken and vegetable pakoras were chock full of all good things. I found the naan a bit dense (though soft and buttery good), but perhaps I was only too full to appreciate a substantial flatbread.

I grew up in the suburbs - and until now I was yet to find a Toronto indian restaurant that could compete with Mississauga/Brampton. Banjara is '905' good. The service is great and they participate in the bring your own wine program. My favorite is the baingan bharta.

Banjara Indian Cuisine

I had seen this place faved a couple of times on Ourfaves and it is in my neighbourhood - it is definitely fave-worthy! Walked in there this eve at 6:30PM and it was packed - always a good sign. The food was delicious, very fresh and made with wonderful spices. We had the signature onion naan, chana masala, chicken tikka and a tomato soup. All were outstanding. Will definitely go back.
