Much as I on principle dislike big chains, it's really hard to beat Chapters/Indigo when it comes to books. They have pretty much any mainstream book you would want. It's also nice how no one hassles you if you want to just do a bit of browsing.

Kids Love to Play ... I mean read

Shopping and playtime all in one. Chapters (or Indigo) is a great place to spend the afternoon with the family. There is something for everyone. For kids, they love the Thomas the Train table and the selection of books that their school library doesn't have. For parents, they can have a cup of Starbucks and review the latest bestsellers as their kids play and explore. There is ample seating available and no pressure to buy, so you can spend the afternoon with your kids looking at and reading books. Even though you do not have to buy, check out their clearance shelves. Both you and your children will be able to find titles worth buying.
