Go elsewhere for your sushi craving

Rated this place:

HoSu Bistro

Sushi is meant to be fresh, tempura is meant to be hot and soft shell crab is meant to be crunchy. My dining experience at Hosu this past weekend was none of the above. I'm a little suspicious of the tempura that was served to us -- it came within five minutes from the time I ordered it and it was mysteriously room temperature. They're either magicians or really, really good at ... recycling. I had higher hopes for the soft shell crab roll, but was equally disappointed. The crab was bland-tasting and soft. The next time my friend and I go for a sushi date, we'll head elsewhere.

Uncooked Chicken and No Apology

Rated this place:

Extremely disappointed in a recent visit to Hosu. I ordered sushi which was pretty bad but it was the quality of my dining companion's meal that is alarming. She ordered Chicken Katsu which came to the table undercooked. It was full out pink. I pointed it out to the waitress who offered to cook it again. My friend was feeling pretty queasy and declined a second cooking. So I asked that we get a discount on our bill. Then the manager came over to tell us that it wasn't undercooked. It was marinade. No, there's a difference between a marinated tint and just plain undercooked chicken. Beware of what you're biting into at Hosu.

meh..

Rated this place:

The tempura was not fresh AT ALL. It tasted as if it was refried over and over again, using very old oil. Our waitress wasn't friendly at all.. the overall mood of the staff was very grumpy!

Fill Your tummy without going broke!

Rated this place:

I remember practically foaming at the mouth when I was unable to remember the name of this restaurant so I could order some food about two - three years ago. I was craving their delicious Salmon Terikyaki and my appeitite had to be filled...unforunetly the name was wiped from my memory and we settled for pizza...depressing.Nonetheless whenever I'm downtown there's a good chance my friends and I wil pop in for quick take out. We've only had our meals inside once and it was good experience, but we almost felt like more of a burden (We had a large group and it was a last minute decision on our part lol) the prices are FANTASTIC! I always have to take home leftovers.I highly recommend anyone check out this place if you love or are new too Korean and Japanese dishes. You'll be satisfied!

The lunch special is very cheap. The price range is from $4.50 to $7.50. The quantity is good and the quality is ok.

Cheap price should not mean cheap quality

Rated this place:

I went to this restaurants on July1, canada's national holiday. And I was soooo disappointed by the freshness and quality of the food. Tempara is cold and not crispy at all. Plus it has the smell that the oil has not been changed since 2000. After we ate sashimi, the shredded radish underneath exuded stinky smell. I never went to a japanese/korean restaurant as bad as this in toronto. I will never go back again and never recommend it to any of my friends.
