pastries and croissants

Rated this place:

Located inside the posh Soho Metropolitan Hotel, this place is a good place to spot celebrities. It's also a good cafe to visit in the morning for their freshly brewed coffee and butter croissants, that are always fresh, light, flaky, and very buttery. The cakes, pastries and mini desserts, such as cheesecakes and tarts, are also delicious and so beautiful to look at. Bring a friend or co-worker for an afternoon break and enjoy a cappuccino along with one of these sweet indulgences.

Desserts

Rated this place:

I remember I had an Opera Cake from them, and it was really, really good. It had layers of sponge cake, coffee buttercream, and chocolate ganache glazed topping.

Rated this place:

The desserts are so delicate and pretty, and perfect if you like fruity-not-so-sweet desserts! They're priced at ~$5-6 each, but so worth it.

Cookie, Raisin bran muffin

Rated this place:

Wow! it is sinfully delicious and full of ultra rich, gourmet chocolate. Really - if you are going to surrender to chocolate, this is the way to go!

Raisin bran muffins are usually the ones that are for the health freaks. This one is a taste sensation. think they may even add dates to it. I mistakenly enquired about the nutritional info on the muffin and lets just say I will be moving from 1 a day to 1 a week ;-)

Cheese scone

Rated this place:

I love breaking through that perfect crunch to find the savoury-yet-sweet fluffy inside. There's no hint of phoney flavour--just pure buttery goodness. Neither too rich nor too large, this breakfast wonder makes one want to break new year's resolutions in January! Hey, some believe it's better to raise the calorie count in the a.m. rather than the p.m., right?

Americano coffee, Mid-day espresso shot

Rated this place:

They make it perfectly strong - and will add a splash of steamed milk ... if you ask nicely.

It helps me get through all late afternoon meetings... and bootcamp for that matter!
