Aromachology at The Bay

If you’re into horoscopes and expressing your own sense of style then you’re going to love Aromachology. The new customized perfume line based out of Toronto has been popping up in spots like The Four Seasons and Henri Bendel, and now, conveniently until Christmas Eve, at The Bay downtown. I popped by The Bay to try my hand at customized perfume and filled out a fun questionnaire to determine which of the five base scents best suited my personality. My answers to questions about my clothing style, hair do’s, and vacationing preferences qualified me as a ‘Totally Edible Gourmand.’ I then chose to finish off my scent with one of Aromachology’s top-notes to add an even more personalized touch. My concoction was blended on-site and I walked away with a fabulous sweet smelling travel-sized bottle. Aside from its beautiful scents, Aromachology makes a great gift (guys get abbreviated questionnaires to fill out), is trendy (the Jonas Bros set off a fragrance frenzy when Joe Jonas mixed a batch for an ‘unknown’ lady), and is definitely unique (you’ll be hard-pressed to find someone else that smells just like you). A Holiday tradition in Toronto. When I was younger, my sisters and I would look forward to the creative storefront windows and the way that some of the mannequins would be animated. Even now, it still gets me into the spirit of the season!

Whatever you're looking for, it's there. The selection is broad and while I know you can get to the Bay in other locations, the downtown Bay is my fav.

The Bay at Queen Street is the one place I can find everything I need: clothes for work, shoes, accessories, gifts. The wedding registry service is great, anything that isn't bought for you is available for you to buy at a significant discount. The men's wear department has the best staff I've ever had the pleasure of dealing with.

At Christmas time the store windows are absolutely spectacular and put you right into the chrstmas spirit. There's nothing like walking along in the snow and seeing the displays of lights and decorations.

Hands down its the best Christmas window display I have seen them put on in years - even better than Holt's. i love the old-fashioned theme and the detailing of all the festive characters, including the house mice.

The photo ops alone are worth the five flight crawl at the Yonge & Queen locale. I mean, you can also buy decorations there too - but thats entirely up to you. I haven't. the dollar store kids, the dollar store!
