Because they serve up really delicious chocolate peanut butter and also Atomic Chocolate (dark chocolate - my fave)

They have a really exceptional selection of foreign films, documentaries, Canadiana, mini series and TV shows, and rare films. Not your average Blockbuster or Rogers. Plus, they serve up some of the best icecream in town. A total neighbourhood fixture.

First off, this place has the best ice cream in the world. Grab a kiddie cone and browse the rentables, heavy on classics and outsider goodness. I even scored an old VHS copy of Dario Argento's "Deep Red" from the clearance rack for $2 on my first visit.

It reminds you of what icecream tasted like when you were a kid. Creamy and blissful. The Atomic Chocolate is my all-time favourite. Dark Chocolate awesome.

Gregg's Ice Cream has been the reigning champion for my favorite frozen dairy desert for about 4 years; until now. The Film Buff has slide in to home base to claim the penant. They have coconut ice cream that is twice as good, half the price and within relative walking distance of my place... I'm looking out my fat pants as we speak.

A great selection of cult and other classics, docs, foreign film, horror and campy goodness, festival selections and all the best new releases fill the shelves; the owner and the gang behind the counter are friendly and knowledgeable (and know you); and there's an great cafe and ice cream parlour right inside. It's a winning combo that has made this place something of a local hangout in the warmer months, with the benches and steps outside full of neighbourhood folks, fams, couples and dogs.
