Don't Go!

Rated this place:

I agree, skip this place. Not only did I get a bad manicure but I overheard them saying that they were not going to pay the outstanding bills the first owner left them. I don't agree with this type of buisness practice, if you can't your finances together it is probably the reason why their services are bad. Seriously, there are other spas that deserve your time and money!

I realize this place has recently had a change in ownership, perhaps that's why I don't agree with the rest of these reviews... we went as a group for manis and pedis. The staff performing the services were quite nice and they were accomodating of us having a baby around and our own snacks. However, I was truly disappointed with our manicures - pretty much the worst I have ever had. They didn't understand how I wanted my nails shaped (basic, squared-off), applied the polish really messily, and there were so many bubbles and ridges in the end that I went right home, took it off and redid it myself. They are nice girls but I wonder if they actually have any training as estheticians whatsoever. Spending $25 for a really unprofessional job is not cool, as much as I like the idea of an organic spa.

Mani + Pedi - safe for us and our world

Rated this place:

Toronto's first organic and vegan spa, featuring 100% chemical- and synthetic-free, animal-friendly products (except the polish which happily has as few nasties as possible). What does all of this mean? Well, to start it’s actually healthy, and it’s baby/kid safe too. My favourite part (you’ll learn about me a bit here) was that the foot tubs were stainless steel sinks without the bacteria circulating jets! These are hands and feet you'll feel good about!

This place is teeny-tiny and totally eco-conscious. They offer full spa services from facials to Chocolate Wraps and sell loads of vegan and organic products (plus and great stuff for sensitive skin). My favourite is the Purifying Facial. My oily skin thanks them for making it a bit more manageable. It's great to see more of these kind of environmentally concerned businesses popping up in the city especially if they make it possible for us to pamper ourselves without feeling too frivolous or irresponsible.
