Baby on the hip is worth the drive (unless you are fortunate enough to live within walking distance) for the shop. Not only do they have a most fabulously and carefully sourced selection of intelligently eco products, but their staff are always helpful. It's amazing what is packed into their small boutique - from matresses (Naturepedic is always my choice) and furniture to strollers and bottles (Klean Kanteen - no lining and safe!) - finally a place that doesn't offer everything, but offers what are the most common-sense and safe choices for the babe in your life, while, of course, not sacrificing an ounce of style. Spend your time and money wisely here - you have enough to lose sleep over with baby without worrying about purchases!

I was recently at Baby on the hip shopping for a baby shower gift. I was amazed at the quality and variety at this shop. They offer furniture, strollers, high chairs, clothing, accessories, toys and skin care. It's all sustainable, organic, non-toxic and natural. They also select fair trade products. I would definitely recommend this place for moms-to-be or anyone looking for beautiful, eco-friendly and functional gifts for baby. I ended up purchasing a Bebe au lait nursing cover -- it works when you need to feed on-the-go and it's stylish, which is always important (offered in a variety of prints)! Baby on the hip also has a registry service, which is a great alternative to big department stores.

It's a gorgeous boutique with everything cool, plus tons of organic/natural stuff you can't find anywhere else. Love it!!
