A natural workout
Rated this place:
When I was training for a marathon last year, this was my favourite route. The slow incline that starts behind the Brickworks takes you past rivers and swampland and lots of tall trees (with plenty of protective canopy, perfect for hot summer days) and dumps you in Mount Pleasant Cemetery. From there, you can get all the way up to Eglinton W and the Allen and back down almost without seeing a car. Best of all, it’s free. (Trivia: This 40km series of trails follow the route of an old commuter railway. The Beltline’s still around 100 years later, even if the train operated for less than three years.)
