Multicultural, multidelicious local grocery
Rated this place:
I used to live around the corner from this grocery store, and was heartbroken when they closed last year. Thankfully, they’ve opened back up just down the street in a smaller, more streamlined space that nonetheless manages to stock all the awesome stuff they used to carry – from weird (and delicious) imported Chilean sweets to Croatian jams and juices, to authentic (as close as you can get in Toronto, anyway) Montreal style bagels. It’s a great place to buy basics like fruits and vegetables, too. The produce is always fresh and varied (I had black radishes from there recently – I didn’t even know black radishes existed), and they have a small but plentiful organic section too. Plus, the friendly, multi-lingual family who runs the place is the best. I missed them while they were gone, and am so glad they’re back in the ‘hood.
