Brassaii Bistro Lounge hosted a celebratory dinner for the cast and filmmakers from the movie “Up in the Air” at the Toronto International Film Festival. Including actors George Clooney, Jason Bateman, Vera Farmiga, Melanie Lynskey, Anna Kendrick and director Jason Reitman. Others that came for the after party were actors Bill Murray, Amanda Seyfried and Rachelle Lefevre. It was a very cool party and the food yummy..

Tasted the new menu at brassaii – it was delicious! The citrus-yogurt marinated breast of free range chicken with jasmine scented rice and broccolini… and apple crumble for dessert! yummy

Had dinner last night at Brassaii Bistro Lounge …The new executive Chef Bruce Woods has changed the entire dinner menu and it is FANTASTIC!!! The Salmon Tartar is so flavourful…with an asian twist! I also had the miso black cod with mango salsa and wasabi mash. The miso melted in my mouth. They also have a new cocktail menu created by their resident Mixologist… jordan. (make sure you ask if he can make your cocktail for you) – the balsamic bramble was yummy!!! i will definitely come back to this place….

Almond Croissants!

This morning I decided to give Brassaii a try for breakfast because I heard their pastries were fabulous. When I walked in I immediately saw freshly made almond croissants which I could not resist. I decided to take a half dozen back with me to the office and they ended up being a huge hit. Without a doubt I will be a return customer.

Triple S!

A colleague and I walked in for lunch and ordered the Triple S which we both thought was fantastic. The Triple S is a $9 food combination of soup, salad and a sandwich. The service was friendly, fast and the venue was filled with charm and good taste. I will be sure to keep this gemstone in mind the next time I have a business lunch or dinner to reserve.

Brassaii has of late become my go to place for a casual business lunch. The 9 dollar "triple S" special of soup, salad and a sandwich is a great deal and there are many other bistro and diner classics on the menu including an excellent cobb salad and a hte brilliant inovation of adding a fried egg to their club sandwich. There's something for everyone on the menu and unlike certain places in the vicinity it's actually possible to have a nice lunch in an hour or less.

Happily located next door to Crush Wine Bar, Brassaii Bistro Louge is no younger sibling. With one of the best patios in downtown Toronto, Brassai serves up non-pretentious business breakfasts, weekend brunches, quick lunches and just as tasty dinners to Toronto's creative web community and young professionals from King St. all the same. Whether it's after-work drinks, pre-clubbing drinks, or a romantic meal, Brassaii has you covered with lots of indoor and outdoor space. Converted into a restaurant/louge from a warehouse space, the lofty feel and modern design of Brassaii is a great compliment to its fare. Lunches start at $8 for soups up to $18 for a super-sized cobb salad. Favourite lunchtime treats: the Baked Goat Cheese & the Brassaii Club: delicious turkey, cheddar, a fried egg, bacon, avacado served up with Brassaii's perfectly fried french fries. Set lunch menus begin from $19 to $40. Dinner offers oyster trays, clam fritters, homemade pasta, and duck confit with set menus from $45 to $75. Don't forget dessert!

Anyone who's been to this gorgeous warehouse-of-a-bistro on King West knows that the food itself is only part of the allure. Brassaii's sophisticated yet modest menu is matched by an interior decor of hardwood grey flooring, factory windows, painted brick walls, and a summer patio that is so delicious it's often swallowed up by corporate creative types and bright-eyed first-daters. Unlike some of the patios that dot the King/John strip, Brassaii's patio is conveniently tucked away from the commotion of King/Spadina in a spacious courtyard - the perfect backdrop to dining on meaty mussels and salty fries ($13) and the very popular bistro steak with shallot jus and fries ($25). Whatever you order, make sure you wash it down with Brassaii's mojito, the bistro's refreshing concoction that has made quite the name for itself with its balanced blend of rum, mint and fizz.
