All the bread is homebaked on the premises using organic ingredients. i'm not sure if all the pastries use organic ingredients as well, but the bread is outstanding. arguably the best whole-grain baguette in town, care of the bakery's resident French baker Mike. It's on the shopping list of many Toronto restos.

Because from the organic bread to the roasted meats to the curry mayonnaise, everything is made on site and made-to-order. The Boxing Day sandwich (turkey, stuffing and cranberries) is to die for.

I love Brick Street! I have been enjoying their distillery district location for years, and gone to the Leslieville location as well. I love that their fresh bread stays fresh for a couple of days rather than drying out in a couple of days. I was also introduced to Eccles here, which are a delicious pastry with butter, brown sugar, and raisins inside - I figure the raisins make them a healthy treat! ;) I'm getting hungry just thinking about the place!

Don't skip this spot on your way in or your way out of the Distillery District. Brick Street Bakery bakes outsatnding breads and pastries, most with local and organic ingredients - some sandwiches also qualify as scrumptious and organic! The service really needs to be improved - if they served up a smile with their baguettes like they do at their leslieville location, their line ups may be even longer! Grab and go or take a seat on their sidewalk patio and people watch!

Fresh sandwiches are delicious. Chicken rolled in a lightly curried mayo with apricots... yum. Sausage rolls are delicate, flakey and hot. Yum.

I'm not vegetarian, but if I had to be, I'd subsist on Brick Street Bakery's grilled vegetable sandwich. I don't know what they season their veggies with or what decadence they spread on the bread, but it works. And the bread! So fresh. So fragrant.

Because their pies are awesome (especially their shepherds pie)!! When their meat pies are freshly baked, you can smell it everywhere in the Distillery District. Line ups pile up, everyone eager to get a slice!! I use to work near there & during lunch, my co- worker and I would go and get variety of pies to share for lunch they were that good !!

The second you walk in you're inundated with the smell of freshly baked breads and sweets. So many different many varieties to choose from. Of note: Brick Street Club and the Lamb Kafta.
