The Real Deal
Rated this place:
The Crooked Star offers all the best qualities of a neighbourhood beverage house: a fair number of quality beers on tap, decent drink specials (a few nights of the week), no-nonsense service, a friendly vibe, ample seating, warm lighting, good tunes, eclectic décor and regular art exhibits. It’s ideal for all kinds of casual encounters, especially first dates, chitchats with strangers, birthday parties and one-on-ones with dear friends. They have a decent weekend brunch, too. But on a busy night, don’t get your hopes up for anything special (food-wise); often the best thing available is mediocre nachos made by a bartender who cooks it in a toaster oven behind the bar. Apart from that, this place is a gem!
