A dive bar done right

For a night of unpretentious drinking, nothing beats the Done Right, where you can pay with Canadian Tire Money and carve your name into the tables while you're chatting. (Well, maybe.) It's tiny, but cozy, with worn/torn couches and an old pinball machine. Warning: The patio out back is cute, but at certain times in the season the trees above will helpfully try to flavour your drinks by dropping maple keys into them.

It was a hard time choosing this over the Daughter, but look, they take canadian tire money and x-rays as currency, so go break your arm, ask your grandpa for his CT stash, and get drunk. They have a hole in the bathroom that you can punch bigger, old school pinball, and a patio with solid tree coverage. Go here.

Friday afternoon patio

When it's 20c and brilliantly sunny it's easy to argue that a patio is a patio is a patio. But sometimes when the weather is beautiful and you've had a Friday that feels like a Friday you need that je nais sais quois. At times like this you head to the Done Right. The back patio is almost entirely shaded by a brilliant tree, young vines climb up the wooden fences and the shoddy furniture makes you feel like you're enjoying your tipple in the backyard. Regulars are friendly and welcoming.
