Local coffeeshop

Rated this place:

Ezra's Pound

Everything on the menu is organic, all packaging either recyclable or compostable, and - most of all - they have fantastic coffee. The shop is cute with ample seating (although it still is packed at peak hours).

They make pain au chocolate fresh everyday and the pastry is perfect. If you get there in the morning, the chocolate will still be warm and gooey.

And, before I became a vegetarian, I had the best turkey sandwich here - served on a fresh sourdough baguette with a chili mayo and sweet onion marmalade.

Great neighbourhood cafe

Rated this place:

Nearly all the salads, eggs, sandwiches and baked goods are organic at Ezra’s Pound, but first and foremost it’s a coffee shop, so the crucial fact to remember when going there is: the coffee’s perfect. They offer the usual espresso drinks and ordinary filter coffee, but my favourite is a cup of their hand-drip coffee. As if the name of the café isn’t precious enough, they’ve recently started carrying DCI’s “I am not a paper cup…” cups, which look exactly like paper cups with plastic lids, but are actually thermal porcelain and silicone. This place has everything, including really cute staff and a rotating art show on the walls. The croissants are buttery, flaky and just small enough that you can have two or three without feeling like a glutton. They also sell ginger scones that might be, without exaggeration, the best scones I’ve had in my life. VC

Cafe atmosphere

Rated this place:

Ezra's Pound is that type of cafe where you can chill out with your laptop and watch hurried Dupont-ers go to and from the subway station...aside from the food and drinks it's a nice atmosphere with large tables, interesting/random paraphernalia and friendly baristas.

Breakfast

Rated this place:

Their croissants taste just like the ones I ate in Paris, France earlier this year (a rare find in Toronto, I think), and they provide massive servings of their delicious lattes at a reasonable price. It gets pretty busy sometimes, but it is definately worth it to wait for a table if only to enjoy the great people-watching atmosphere they've set up.

Local coffeeshop

Rated this place:

Their Americano (& pretty much everything on their menu) is organic, and it's very strong, just the way I like it!
