A '50s prom dream

There are two kinds of vintage shopping: the kind where you rummage through piles of old stuff and hope to find some hidden gems, and the kind where everything you touch is actually a beautiful and well preserved piece from another era.
Flashback is the kind of store where everything is beautiful and in great shape - the challenge is only finding dresses in your size. Everyone I know who's gone there in search of something for a special occasion has walked out looking like a member of the Mad Men cast (or an equivalent from another era).
The quality of the pieces at Flashback has to be seen (and touched) to be believed. Definitely a notch or two above the usual Kensington fare, which these days is less and less truly 'vintage'.
