Mennonites know their meat
Rated this place:
If you’re going to eat meat, you may as well eat the best, healthiest, most ethically raised meat that it’s possible to get without actually keeping pigs and cows in your back yard. Even if you did decide to start up your own mini farm, you wouldn’t have the generations upon generations worth of experience and expertise that these guys have. Let’s face it: your meat wouldn’t be this delicious. Fresh From the Farm gets their stuff from small family run farms from Mennonite communities around Ontario. There’s beef, pork, chicken, turkey, lamb and even farm-raised elk. By far the most incredible meat product in their catalogue is their farmer sausage – sold in big, juicy coils. It’s not just a butcher shop, either. Fresh From the Farm carries fabulous dairy products, honey, organic non-perishibles, fresh baked goods from St. John’s Organic Bakery, homemade pies, pickles and other preserves, and even some otherwise hard to find east European imports. You have the option to order items in advance, though it’s not mandatory. Still, when you’re planning for holidays or celebrations, it’s nice to be able to secure the perfect cut of meat well ahead.
