Park

Rated this place:

Big enough that you'll be able to find a piece of grass, even on the busiest of weekends. Right by the subway, too.

Park

Rated this place:

I grew up in the neighbourhood. I loved skating in the winter and swimming in the summer. There's also a mini zoo , playground, trolley rides, pond, walking trails and breathtaking view of the sunset . Free parking too! It's also close to Bloor village , Roncevalles ( the village east of high park) and Lakeshore's bike path.

High park off leash area

Rated this place:

Hello to all dog lovers! Some of you may already be aware that we are at risk of losing the majority of the off leash area in High Park. If you disagree with this, on Wednesday, June 4, 2008 be at the High Park Tennis club at 6:30 PM to protest this action! Let's all support our rights to a safe dog play area in the City of Toronto.

Place to cycle, Spring-time picnic spot/event

Rated this place:

Where else in the city can you coast past castles and totems, peacocks and cherry groves, japanese gardens and sprawling lawns - all within pedal power of the scenic lakeshore or a number of great post-cycle lunch spots on Bloor or Roncesvalles.

Each year, around the first weekend of May, when the cherry trees bloom, people come to High Park to picnic and make merry under them. The trees look amazing, laden with white flowers, and there's something really special about so many people - young, old, families, hipsters, dogs, neo-hippies, former ravers, Japanese folks, shutterbugs - all coming out to play together. There's even ambient electronic music! Bring your own blanket/wine/bbq/devil sticks/funky get-up/dog/hula hoop/dancing shoes.

Getaway spot

Rated this place:

It's a nice place to relax and just enjoy nature while you're still in the city. A great place to jog, walk, play sports, and just hang out!

Park

Rated this place:

The fitness trail is a hidden gem, Colborne Lodge is a fun historical visit, an outdoor zoo, and a kitschy restaurant in the middle of it all

Romantic spot

Rated this place:

High Park

Bring a blanket. Find your own spot. Maybe sneak in some wine. It's true - you do forget that you're in Toronto for a moment. Pure earthy escapism.
