Hearty and Healthy

Rated this place:

Le Pain Quotidien

Ideal for brunching and lunching, Le Pain Quotidien serves up a wholesome menu in a welcoming environment. With more than 80 locations worldwide, two of which are located in Toronto’s midtown core, Le Pain draws people in with its famed organic artisan breads, hearty sandwiches, salads, soups, and baked goods. Those looking for a healthy escape from Toronto’s greasy-spoon diners will find refuge in Le Pain’s homemade multigrain granola and organic parfaits. Lunch-goers must try the Atlantic shrimp, avocado and salsa sandwich (served on generous cuts of delicious organic wheat bread), or the goat cheese and arugula salad. The restaurant also allows you to take your experience home with you as most of the delicious ingredients are sold on-site.

Great Bakery

Rated this place:

This is a delicious Belgian bakery with great food and fun. The atmosphere is loud, so it is great for kids. Try the communal table - it's fun!

Pleasant but not Paris

Rated this place:

I first came across the "Le Pain Quotidien" chain in Paris where I went to two of their locations for lunch. I absolutely loved the food and was delighted to hear they had two locations in Toronto. The food is pretty good- I particularly enjoy the brunch menu. They also have a lot of great specials like their french toast and make a great homemade lemonade. The coffee isn't great and their prices (mainly for drinks) are fairly expensive.

The wait is over!

Rated this place:

Le Pain Quotidien has finally arrived in Toronto. Even though this is a chain, it’s about as far removed from a Denny’s, TGI Fridays or other typical chains as you can get. Well known for their beautiful, natural décor, Le Pain Quotidien restaurants somehow make you feel healthier just by stepping inside. And not only is the décor pretty, but the food is fresh and delicious too. They offer a great selection of tartines (sandwiches) and salads … not to mention all their fabulous sweet treats. A great place to meet a friend for lunch. Or if you’re an early bird, they are also open early for breakfast. And they have great breads and a selection of gourmet products (like olives and organic jams) to take home with you. Yummm.

Le pain quotidien

Rated this place:

Soon to be at 18 Yorkville. If this place is anything like the one I went to in London UK, their tartines are superb.
