Fancy dinner

Rated this place:

It's a fun place for a special occasion because the food is amazing and it has a great casual atmosphere. Also, you get to share all the dishes so that makes it fun, too. Everything was delicious and there was a great variety of vegetable and meat/fish dishes. The Singaporean slaw is made with 18 (!) different vegetables and tastes awesome. It's nice to be able to get a little bit of the Susur Lee experience without totally breaking the bank.

Restaurant

Rated this place:

The best food in Toronto. The tasting menu is a must for first-time goers, you won't be disappointed. However, the ambience leaves something to desired and the service is notoriously terrible. But if you want the best food in town, this is the spot.

Have you ever seen fries like this? And they are interlaced with spicy mayo!

The dishes are spectacular! Really creative but edible. it has really great ambiance... and is affordable (at least relative to Susur Lee)

Gazpacho, Pan-asian tapas, Singapore slaw

Rated this place:

Never in my life have I tasted this kind of cold vegetable heaven. Maybe it was the freshness of the tomatoes, or maybe the swirl of avocado cream, or perhaps the tiny corn fritter puff and fresh herb garnish, but this was some top-notch soup people. summer only. mark your calendars.

The atmosphere is casual and funky, but the service is pristine (a hard combo to pull off). the prices are reasonable for the calibre of the food, which is top-notch. only one dish was diappointing - a baked lentil dish. every other mini dish was a wonderful flavour sensation, and gorgeous to look at.

It is soooo delicious - like 20 different ingredients (fennel, daikon, peanuts, pea shoots, edible pansy petals etc etc) in a fantastic ume and sesame dressing. Looks amazing. Tastes even better.

The portions are small so you can sample lots of Susur's amazing dishes - definitely try the cole slaw!
