Food menu? No thanks.

Rated this place:

Fresh soup made from scratch isn't always a good thing. Maybe I hit an off-day, but the soup I had was lukewarm, watery and bland. Food took forever and was actually relatively overpriced for the quality. I think i'll head 2 doors down to epicure next time. Service was decent. Free wifi. Beer.

Cozy coffee with a laissez-faire vibe

Rated this place:

There are about a million places on Queen W that offer coffee and wifi, but Tequila Bookworm is especially cozy, totally relaxed, and I hear they have good soup. (See: other favers.) Bonus: If you're there from 4-6, you get to watch the clientelle flip -- out go the bookish coffee drinkers, and in come the after-work hipster beer drinkers.

Random meeting place

Rated this place:

This is a interesting place to randomly meet people or select as a meeting place. the walls are lined with books, the atmosphere is cozy and inviting, and there's internet! woo. they have had a tendency in the past to have art on the walls, and though they are blank at present, hopefully more art will be on there soon (perhaps mine :P)

Indie cafe

Rated this place:

It's scrumptiously geek-friendly and down-to-earth. Enjoy delicious espresso-based beverages made with rich, frothy steamed milk and served in the kind of mug--and with the type of warmth--you'd expect at a friend's house. For some, it is a cosy communal workspace where writer's block is fought over casual food and drink. For others, it's a spot for quiet reading. I think it's a great relaxed hangout for solitary chillin' or group gabbin'. It's just aces in my books.
