Toronto's beaches

Rated this place:

OK, so it may be a stretch to lump Toronto into the same category as Barcelona, Rio Di Janeiro or Sydney, but the city is fortuitous enough to be set along some surprisingly sandy beaches. Much maligned by many locals for their perceived lack of cleanliness, Toronto's beaches are tested daily for water quality. You can check the city's website to ensure that weather conditions and water quality is acceptable before planning your tropical getaway. Woodbine Beach and Kew-Balmy Beach located, strangely enough, in the neighbourhood known as The Beaches are great spots to people watch, cruise the boardwalk, tan and even brave the cool depths of Lake Ontario. The Beach

Rated this place:

I love that we have a beach within the city! The beach is one of my favorite places to take kids and out of town guests in the summer. Walk the boardwalk, or picnic in the Kew Beach Gardens. Let kids run around in the parks, browse the shops, enjoy a lovely meal in one of the many restaurants and cafes, and of course spread you towel, and read a good book on the beach! Last but not least, The Beaches Jazz festival runs in August every year.

Walking spot

Rated this place:

Who doesn't like walking along the boardwalk? The beaches, the parks, the rocks and of course Lake Ontario itself - all makes it a beautiful place. The water is so fresh that you can easily take a gulp or two to rejuvenate your spirit. Okay, not really, but swimming in it won't kill you.

Well, there's the beach...view of the water...the boardwalk...and the little parks... and the Queen St. East. shopping...It all makes for an excellent day...at the beach...well... without the swimming... but for a large urban city...it's not too bad.
